Agreed.

Bad trade? yes

Mortal wound? no

It's not. Roy lead the Avs to two cups, winning the Conn Smythe once (could have won it in 96 as well if Sakic wasn't on an absolute tear. Man I miss watching Sakic.).
So, unless McDo has this much impact on his team, it will never equate that trade.
Just leave it at two horrible trades. No need to compare them.

How ugly will the goal be is what we should be asking ourselves..
Goal from mid-ice style??

My thoughts exactly lol

That guy is a no-show when the game matters. But for this one, he finally does do something for 1 second and then the game is over.

Kinda wished it went to 4 OTs though.

Hmm I wonder if nashville will even bother playing those two superstar floaters in the next game?

Didn't someone say how important Akost was to this team? 1st line player! lol

I don't think anyone said Akost is a 1st line player, if he's important to this team it's because the Habs just might have the worst offensive wingers in the league.

Don Cherry said it was a huge mistake and a big blow to the Preds playoffs by not playing these two kids.

Again, where did you see AK floats in the playoffs? Like seriously, if you saw something wrong in AK's game in the playoffs so far, please share with us what was off in his game. Bash the guy all you want but calling him floater is just not true. I dare you to ask the Preds fans if they think AK is a floater.. or if they are satisfied with his game and production as a third liner.

Yes, Preds won. Rinne was awesome but guess what, they also won 4 games with Radulov and AK in the line up in the last round. They lost the first 2 road games and won their home game.. Is there something abnormal here? but of course, its all because of Radulov and AK that they lost the first 2 games. Very opportunistic guys.

Then who said AK is a legitimate 1st line players. What about you show us proof for once? Is there any media/journalist that think AK's is a legitimate first line player like you pretend? Or how many members here thought he should play on the first line instead of Cole?

I've been defending AK for quite some time now.. I never thought he was a 1st line player. I was happy to see him on the ****ing 3rd line with Eller. So yeah.. Prove it.

I'm not going to waste my time sludging through old posts to find it. I just think it hilarious how people raved and ranted when gauthier traded him how we were losing some kind of misunderstood superstar that was top line quality. Then he gets an unheard of suspension from his own team in one of the most important games in the playoffs for said team.

3rd line winger depth and nothing more, his team didn't miss a beat with this guy out.

3rd line winger maybe, but without him Plekanec and Eller get to play more with superstars like Darche, White, Geoffrion, Palushaj and, if they are lucky, Bourque.

So yes, when you have terrible wingers there's reason to miss a guy who will get you 20 goals and decent physicality. But no, that doesn't mean he's a superstar.

Rightttt...

Losing misunderstood superstar???

Do you really expect us to believe the crap you're saying? I think i've been on this board enough to know what was said when AK was trade.. and the ******** you just said never happened.

Some people said they expect more than a 2nd round (because Gaustaud was trade for a 1st), other said we are lucky to get a 2nd round pick with the way AK was playing but not a single person was crying because we traded away a misunderstood superstar.

Some people were upset because they believe he never got his chance to shine and it was the coach's fault. Some people even believed Andrei Kostitsyn was worth a 1st rounder.
