So much for what he said on draft day.

"I'm committed to four years at Miami and I plan on sticking to it."

I'm a little disappointed tbh. I'd have liked to see him stay at least another year...

If he goes to Oshawa, it'll be a lot better, IMO.

Meh, I would prefer him to go to Oshawa, then make a strong push for the Leafs in 2013-2014.

He underestimated his university workload?

OHL is better for developing PWF than NCAA IMO. In the OHL players are free to do whatever the **** they want as long as they can back it up.

The OHL would be a terrific place for him to get big time minutes and work on his offensive game. Can he show enough offense to crack a future top 6 role?

Yep, Biggs is eligible to play for the Marlies according to their rules of being 18 on Sept 15 of year of play.

Maybe Gens would be the better spot for him given he has not played in the OHL, the best developmental league in the world.

kinda mixed feelings about this as I thought the NCAA would be good for his development but it will be easier to track his progress with him in the OHL.

I have mixed feelings for this, because I just want him to work on bringing out his skill, and NCAA does that as they totally don't allow the fights

One thing to look fwd with Tyler leaving Miami, he will be freed to scrap next year, OHL will offer him many opportunities to show off his fighting prowless.

OHL is a great league and hopefully he flourishes if that's what he chooses. Of course, I'd prefer he goes full on Lucic mode in training camp and becomes an intimidating force for us out there but the odds of that happening are slim.

I was just about to post something similar, The OHL has a proven record of developing the most NHL players of any league in the world.

Not to worry, Biggs is going the route of many before him. The OHL will have him ready for the pros more than Miami would. He's in good hands and lucky for us just down the road in Oshawa.

NHL is an option, true, but it'd probably take a miracle for him to make the team. My best guess is OHL.

I know its a great league but this is also a league where he can fight more like crazy. NCAA they would just focus on the skills and nothing else, thats why I was glad he choose that route.

Until it happens it hasn't happened.

We've discussed this many times on here, and I've usually been in the losing end of the argument saying I wasn't high on him being in the NCAA.

There should be a tonne of people against this ... like most of the posters here.

He was the Leafs' leading scorer in the 196364, 196667 and 196970 seasons, and the team's top goal scorer in 197071 and 197273. Keon was considered one of the fastest skaters in the NHL, and one of the best defensive forwards of his era.[3] He would usually play against the opposing team's top centre, and developed a reputation for neutralizing some of the league's top scorers. In 197071, he scored eight shorthanded goals, setting an NHL record.

The OHL is a much more wide open game. If you're looking to develop offensive skills 68 games in a much higher scoring league playing top minutes is the place to be. The fighting is such a small concern it's not worth worrying about.

This never bothers me. Playing 4 years, high end NCAA prospects waste a couple of good years of their 20's then still have to adjust to the long seasons of faster, physical pro hockey. Still a great place for the 98% who aren't higher end NHL prospects to get a degree.
