Man, did we drop the ball... We had a clear shot at the Finals, and we gave it up because we didn't want to play playoff hockey, our defense was ****, MAF was ****, and Bylsma forgot how to coach.

Zubrus got hooked badly and still scores.

Was anybody else expecting Schenn to throw himself into the glass to draw a penalty?

The Flyers just aren't as good as we made them out to be. We made them look like the 80's Oilers.

Actually Bryz is looking a bit better than he was in the 1st round but instead of scoring 5 goals a game they're scoring 2-3 goals a game, all the difference really.

I think he's been OK, nothing like the first round, def not their biggest problem. Their D is being exposed (esp when they just stand around) and when you can't get Giroux, Hartnell, and Jagr scoring even strength, you're gonna have issues.

I said during the Pens/Flyer series that neither of these teams would go far in the playoffs playing how they were. I would love to say I was prophetic, but it was obvious.

All the Flyers got was a few more cheap shots in and a worse draft pick. Like is good.

Off to read the Philly GDT for some light enjoyable reading before heading to bed. Should be a riot.

Caps fan here. Weird man because I remember your Pens playing an aggressive forechecking style like the Devils and for some reason in the playoffs, they adopted the Boudreau run and gun mentality we used to have. I also think that the Devils had a HUGE advantage because they saw what your Pens did wrong, starting with not retaliating and skating away from the Flyers antics. I also have no clue what happened to your awesome PK in the playoffs.

Weirdest playoffs overall that I can remember in years.

We lost because of horrible defense & shaky goaltending. It's that simple. If the Flyer weren't scoring on crease to crease goals that Fleury didn't stand a chance on, Fleury was letting in weak goals. Can't win game like that.

If the Flyers could only be up against a Dan Bylsma coached team in every round they would win the cup easily!!!

I still think some of the things the Pens went through all season and never adjusted just compounded in the playoffs, esp with a match-up vs Philly. Pens only won one game in the regular season vs them (the last one when neither team had their whole line up) and yet not a whole lot was changed for the playoffs. It was almost like they expected things to just click and those losses vs Philly and even the Islanders didn't matter.

Also I think some things Philly has experienced all season are starting to hit the fan too. Like some of us said no matter who won the Pens~Flyers matchup, the rest was gonna be tough if they played like they did in the first round.

As for the PK, NJ had major issues with Florida with their's too. Our's I think was more expected, but NJ's just looked weird. They've definitely calmed down (helps that Kovalchuk & Brodeur look better now), but I don't recall the last time that's really happened.

Well, he's not exactly wrong.

The offense and D have **** the bed for the Flyers, and I'm loving it.

Their D has been otherworldly bad for a long time now. They were against us to. It is no surprise that they are hitting a wall. To be fair, as I said above we would have been in the same boat for the same reasons.

Long term, hitching their wagon for so much cap space and for so long to such an iffy goalie seems to be a roll of the dice that is not paying off for them. I do not see him getting any more consistent in coming years, do you?
