I thought it was a pretty even game outside of the 2 first period brain farts, but reading national media coverage, you'd think we're now down 3-0 or something.

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/hoc..._boxscore.html

Yotes, please, please, please win the next one. I'm so sick and tired of hearing praise for Nashville.

It was a game that could have easily went into OT 0-0. I thought the effort level for the Coyotes was there but some fluke goals went their way while shots I thought were pretty good got blocked by the pekker. But hey, its a series and it was a loss I can deal with.

Even if we win the Cup they national media will harp on just how good the loser was. Such is life.

But why is it that it seems no-one outside of the Phoenix fan base is getting behind this team? We're selling out games while not having an owner, we're overachieving, there's not really anyone to hate on our roster, and now that the team's healthy, we're actually playing pretty damn good hockey.

Plus, our team features good personal storylines. Boedker, Brule, OEL, Smith coming out. Doan waiting 16 years for this. The Vermette trade. Whitney having a 77 point season while turning 40 next week (how many stories did we read about Selanne??).

It's a great underdog story. I don't get it.

EDIT: At least LeBrun's coverage seems fair and balanced.

I think this again will make Nashville feel over confident again, and could shift the attention again to how they should just roll us, as it seems all the media outlets indicate.

The underdog role is ours to keep and we need to just run with it. Us against the world.

see we still have the statistical advantage.

Nashville MUST win 3 of the next 4 games.

Phoenix ONLY needs to win 2 of the next 4 games.

Nashville MUST, at some point, win 2 games in a row

Phoenix ONLY needs to win at home

Glad to read few to no "chicken little's"!

It's pretty simple boys.... we got beat.

The wheels aren't falling off and the Preds didn't dominate. They capitalized on a weak play and got the only goal they needed last night.

No one has pointed out that on the second goal Legwan should have been called for slashing OEL to create the turnover that lead to the goal..... point of course is moot, as they did not even need that goal for victory.

The good news is that while the boys played well, they can certainly play better.

I saw the hook on Ekman-Larsson, and *****ed about it when it happened. Like you said, it's not the reason we lost and I'm glad to see no one using that as an excuse. I love this fan base.

I think it was right after the slash. Or maybe I'm confusing the slash for a hook. Regardless, Legwand's stick was up in Ollie's hands

If both suspended players don't play in game 4 then that will spread a low sense of morale on the Nashville Preds team too.

Just returned from Sky Harbor and wish I had a camera. Maybe this old news and I just noticed it but hanging on the west side of the main control tower is a HUGE brick-red banner with the Yotes logo and "Go Yotes" underneath. Very cool.

One of the Yotes PR people tweeted that earlier this week and it spread on the interweb fairly good. You're old school and anti social media? Fight the good fight, RR!

As for last night, it was more of what most experts predicted for this series from the outset. The Predators blocked a lot of shots and really clogged up the neutral zone. I thought the Coyotes played a hard game outside of the first half of the opening period, but need to find a way to generate more opportunities in tight with traffic in front. I suspect Nashville will field the same lineup and straight line approach next game. Hopefully that emotional boost of being at home with a lineup out to prove something will wear off just enough and we'll win the swing game. This next one is huge.

They're a better TEAM without them.

I wouldn't say that. I just don't live on there like many do and I don't go there for news and information. I also still prefer speaking with and interacting with other people.

Nashville's feeble to attempt at a new tradition. Basically just copied the Red Wings. Except without the lore or the cup.

Cause David Legwand looks like a catfish. He's the one that scored that goal.

Yes, it is just another rip off of the Wings tradition. But let's not forget, some nerd tried to get us to "throw the snake."

It's a special tribute to the annual noodling festival held nearby.
