Hypocrites.

The Habs can have all our GMs, we haven't made the playoffs in 8 years, what is the point of keeping all these overpaid stiffs around????

Dudley also has way more experience, than Bergevin.

I hope we don't lose him.
He could be offered an Assistant GM position and I'm sure Burke wouldn't stand in his way.

Claude Loiselle is our cap connoisseur

Rick Dudley is our Director of player of development

If Burke gives the Habs permission to speak with Dudley, it would probably wouldn't be until after the draft. When Fletcher was trying to pry Nieuwendyk out of Florida, Martin did the same thing and refused the Leafs permission to negotiate with him until after the draft weekend was over.

Absolutely, I posted the same thing on the first page, Dudley is likely invoved in our Draft Scouting and until that is over, Burke I'm sure would refuse to let him go anywhere but after it's over, I think he would let him negotiate with the Habs, if he was offered an Assistant GM position

I'm pretty sure Dudley's a consultant for the Leafs. That's his full capacity with the club. They ask his opinion on things. He also lets the executive team know his opinion of players that are not on their radar quite yet.

Loiselle is the cap guy. That's it.

From the looks of how things are done - I think Burke listens, but does his own thing anyways. That's how you can explain LACK. Better yet, he sends Nonis go off and negotiate some deal, or player's contract, that Nonis is prolly wouldn't do himself if he was boss. Sad but true...

How many expect a big change next year in this club's success? I think it might be more of the same....sadly. Just based on how the team is run.

Nah, I'm pretty sure Burke asks Dudley's opinion on things, when Burke wants to ask Dudley's opinion on things. Dudley is more of a consultant.

Screw the Habs. This ain't charity. If he's not going there to be the GM, why let him make a lateral move?

Just to clarify, if hired by the Habs it would be for the Ast GM position, which would be a promotion from the position he holds now, Director of Player Personnel.

I'd hate for a Toronto guy working for Montreal.

A job is a job. He's getting a promotion if he is being given Assistant GM.

Wow giving up on a 21 and 22 year old without giving them a real chance. I do like Price, but give them some time to develop.

I remember a Burke interview a while back where he discussed such a scenario. From what I recall he basically said if it was a GM position he would let anyone but Nonis negotiate and go(Nonis was getting the $ to stay and fulfill his contract). If it was any other position he would let them talk after the draft.

Are you saying you wouldn't deal Schenn+Kadri for Carey Price? I just want to know how far below Pierre Mcguire to put you on the "2nd choice" list.

Hopefully he doesn't go anywhere. He's a great hockey mind. Losing him to the Habs would be terrible. Depending on how much success the team has in the next year or two, I was hoping Dudley would be Burke's successor.

No I didn't know that and yes we are all speculating.

If a team is unsuccessful and the problems begin from the top, why wouldn't you want to leave? All sorts of people are from Toronto and work elsewhere.

Good thing they keep the terms short and filled holes with stop gap UFAs only. 3/4 of Lack have only 1 year left. Not exactly a big deal as you are making it out to be. Believe me if our prospects were all ready at 18 or 19 years old, there would have been no LACK.

We're very lucky to have Dudley.
