Well, this patch is well plowed over. But it continues to be funny how people keep trying to make a non point....and you over play it again here.
The reason Boyle is on the ice is because John Tortorella sends him out there.
Why is that? Certainly Boyle's esteem in the eyes of his coach is high. That is not because he is some marginal player.
He is a marginal player. How many times does he get caught while forechecking because he doesn't have the required foot speed to either lay an effective hit or cut the lane?
How many times does he have to switch to playing zone because he can't effectively chase down the puck?
How many times does he get outmuscled in the corners or show poor awareness?
How many times does he completely kill our transition because he can't pass/receive/ or carry a puck?
He won some key face offs tonight. I will give him that. But he is more detriment to this team than a help.
Just because Torts wants to overplay him, doesn't mean he is misunderstood.
I mean we did win three games when he wasn't in the line up.
I understand why people love him-he works his tail off, blocks shots, and is a great character guy. But we rely on him too much. His skating is GODAWFUL and he plays center which requires a TON of space to cover. You want to deflect that on the coach, its your choice.
haha is there a reference there? In my head Columbus Blue Jacket=BJ does not compute
I don't follow. Do you still not get it?

Anyone notice Girardi and Del Zotto jawing with and pounding on the glass in front of the jackass Caps fan after the winner? Dude was flipping them off, looked like Del Zotto responded in kind.
Therein lies the problem, our D and goaltending is championship level. But our offense is beyond incompetent and anemic.
Which is why we need to sign Parise this summer. He makes the Rangers an immediate Cup favorite. Our offense was 13th in the NHL this season. If you replace Mitchell's 5 goals with Parise's 31, we become #4 in the league. Kreider will also add some offense.
Even if we can't add Parise, we should try to add a good two-way 20-goal scorer to replace Mitchell. Kreider+another decent scorer replacing Mitchell and Feds would still add about 25 goals, enough to make us a strong offensive threat.
So, according to the Caps board, the Rangers won by "BS".
I can't even go over there without getting upset -- I left and am never going back. What a bunch of idiots.
I never even bothered to read their board this series. I literally don't care what they have to say. Ottawa fans, on the other hand, are at least more knowledgeable, so it's more of a smart debate I have with them, but with Washington, they are just a nightmare to deal with.

Its not just a wing issue, they need a better 3rd line center, and a Triggerman from the point.
I would say the triggerman from the point would solve a ton of problems.

The Caps fans have been far better than the Sens fans, man. The main board is at least post-able now. No more Sens fans mucking it up.

Well its not like we outplayed them. We got puck luck. We won the game.
It happens.
I completely disagree. I thought they played a great game, and there were periods of all three overtimes where they dominated. I fail to see how they won by "BS"
Wow...I'm in Nashville on business and had to attend an event, all night I'm following the game on twitter...leave the event at the start of OT3 and get back to the hotel and sprint for the sports bar inside. 10 minutes later I'm screaming and fist pumping in a crowded bar...and aside froma couple of hollers from the other side of the bar, nobody even noticed.

Disagree.
If we can't add Parise, I think we should go hard after Ryan Suter. Then, if we still need offense at the deadline, we can make a deal if necessary.
Parise and Suter fit the identity of this team perfectly. Adding either one or both (highly unlikely) would be huge for the growth of the team into perennial contenders. Adding either one to this current core without losing any assets like we would in a trade is the best possible scenario.
