End 1st, I'm happy by the score. Getting a point would be awesome but I will wait before the start of the 3rd before hoping something like that. A good game by France to prepare themselves for the next game (Kazakhstan) would be good enough.

I must have missed the part in my post where I complimented the NHLs refereeing. The NHL blows their fair share of calls, no doubt, but at least you don't get penalized for breathing on an opponent.

As a Leafs fan, I find this term very offensive.

It was weak call, but im 100% sure in tough games its not like that

Where are the refs from btw?

Ehhh. I generally watch this tournament every year, and the refereeing always seems to be substandard. Mainly because they seem to make a lot of their calls based on the noise factor of hitting an opponent, rather than the hit itself.

The dude was 25/25 the other night and you had nothing to say, obviously. He goes sitting for half the period without having to make a save and gives up a softish goal (which was off a tricky drop pass mind you). He did bounce back and made some key saves after, yes? Get off his jock strap, eh? It's not like Miller, your idol, didn't give up many-a-softy during the olympics.

Let me reassure you. He did. He played great. But he let in some stinkers. News flash for you: Goalies let in stinkers all the time.

Back to the thread at hand. USA played an overall solid period.

I dunno. Frenchies smell like a mix of frogs and wine, so perhaps they should get penalized

Idol? Miller is one of those players I loathe. He always plays well against Canada and he always plays well against Toronto, hence my hate. However, this hate doesn't take away from the fact that he's an elite NHL goaltender, and believe me, when you're a Toronto fan who has to watch Jonas "Mr. Softie" Gustavsson let in 2 bad goals every game on a nightly basis, you can easily distinguish the difference between good goaltending and bad goaltending (not saying Howard is bad, just not elite).

Seems like a lot of Americans are pretty ungrateful for Miller's heroic goaltending performance at the Vancouver Olympics. And I thought we were hard on our goalies in this country.
