The way he has played this year I see him being signed to an extension. He's number 3 on the goalie depth chart for Tampa.

Definatly see him being resigned, unless he doesn't want to be #2 behind Tik in the AHL and wants to start somewhere in Europe. We'd still own his rights like Helenius so wouldn't be the worst thing if he got #1 minutes for a few years.

I still maintain hes the better goaltender of the two in Norfolk. More athletic, better vision, better movement... just sometimes inconsistent. He seems to be leveling off now though which is nothing short of awesome for us.

Being able to watch Janus play this year versus last year, this is not the same goaltender who was #2 in Norfolk last year. Janus is easily a 1B option for the Ads now, and continues to get better. To be honest, I don't see why he couldn't challenge Tokarski for the starting job next year. It honestly looks much like the same problem Boston and St Louis has with two goaltenders with vastly different styles could start on any given night, and the team doesn't have to worry about a net liability.

I think this year did a lot to boost his confidence. Being the starting tender for a couple weeks while Tik was playing in Tampa gave him the opportunity to finally shoulder the team, and he held serve. He is still prone to giving up a couple softies from time to time, but he is getting tough to beat straight up.

I have such feeling, that he will sign with his former team HC Slovan Bratislava. KHL is also a good league.

would be great but what about his chances in nhl? Does Tampa want to resign him? If not, I am almost sure he will play for Slovan. Btw, club wants to sign him.

It is weird situation in Slovan now, they signed 3rd goalie (in my eyes) - Konrad but need starter and back up (maybe Konrad). Slovan wants to sign someone from Finland as I know...but delaying signing a goalie is a signal that club is waiting for Janusīs decision. We will see. I can imagine situation like "unnamed" Finn, Janus, Konrad

Janus will come only, if he will be the numero uno. Otherweise he would prefer AHL and the chance to play some games in NHL. But its only my opinion. I would do it this way.

KOnrad as a 3th goalie? no. He is already a proven goalie, that will destroy his reputation.

He was given a QO. Don't think he's been re-signed yet.

Organizationally, Lightning has only G Janus to sign. He's qualified, so Tampa Bay wants to keep him. BriseBois playing phone-tag with agent

Doesn't sound like there's a story around Janus being the last RFA to be signed. Sounds like it's a matter of time.

I think he'll be loaned to another AHL team.

Organizationally, Lindback is in the organization and RFA.

Devan Dubnyk is not helping, but Lindback should sign for less than $4 million/yr.

honestly I would be shocked if we did not re-sign Janus. We have a lot in the kid, and he is a great talent. The other fact is that he might be worth a fairly good sum later on in the year in a trade. He might not have a future with Tampa, but he could excel in an organization that needs a solid young goalie. or hell he could still make it hear depending on the situation haha.

I think he gets traded for picks and prospects by the deadline... but that is a long ways off.

He is a prospect himself, who has at this point not even been a number 1 at AHL level. We aren't getting picks and prospects for him. I say he goes to Europe for a couple of years a la Helenius

He needs quality playing time in a good league (not echl), wherever he can find that he should play.
