Sounds risky adding 2 forwards to me. Grossman and Backström would be nice.

Anyways. Henrik Zetterberg is playing like a beast. I haven't seen him play this good in a very long time. Old School Z.

Zetterberg has looked amazing, best Swedish player - best player period during the first three games. But keep in mind, it's afgainst Denmark, Norway & a weak Czech Republic.

I don't know about adding MJ, but I still remember how much I liked the combination of Bäckström and Alfredsson from the Olympics. I would really like to see that tried one more time.

Erik Karlsson?

I would probably put Hedman as forward. But I don't get why they would rather have 12 F's than 6 D's. 11 F's are plenty to cover 60 minutes of ice time. Just play the bottom liners some more.

And I just saw Tomas Ros saying that Lundqvist along with Zetterberg is our most important skater. And that we don't have any chance of winning without him.. He then ranked the top3 players so far in the tournament, and he had Getzlaf as number three. Please give me my five minutes back!

As he should. Hörnqvist tends to go invisible in big games.

Patric Hörnqvist would be a good complement since Joel Lundqvist is out, but It's clear Marts wants Backstrom in the team since he is a center but IMO I would call in Hörnqvist on the spot, he has a good season behind him and he wants to play, also he is a good goalscorer.

Persson - Larsson - Hörnqvist (beaver grin) (back where we started from + Bäckström)

Just too bad Joel Lundqvist is out for the tourney. He was a perfect fit on this team and I don't remember seeing him better. The grinder he is there is no replacement for him around.

Now we got three D-men available from the Flyers. Would anyone in that trio be a good addition? I don't know whole lot about them myself.

Grossman I think is a no-brainer

Lilja is an improvement too. The problem is that with so few spots left we can not really take all the players we have coming at the moment.

The NYR - CAP series will solve a lot of problems no matter the outcome. I want NYR to win, but Henrik is so important for Tre kronor so I do not really care what happens now.

Liljia would not be an improvement at all.

I wouldn't add Grossman either.

And the fact the WHC is played on the bigger ice surface only adds to that.

not surprising, in recent games he didn't look 100% to me.

Agreed on Lilja, but makes you so sure that Grossmann can't handle the big ice surface? Unless Ericsson is a lock to return soon it's a no brainer if you ask me.

Who would you add then? Grossman is easily the best choice if he wants to go. With Ericsson hurt and Hedman playing his worst hockey we really need another defenceman.

Sure Lilja can be frustrating but I'll take him on the third pairing as it is now. But rather Grossman, but that was given.

on the big rink i would play Brodin ahead of Lilja for sure, and probably ahead of Grossman as well.

Grossman was good and solid last time in the WC, don't see why he shouldn't be able to do the job this time. He's not flashy at all but he's damn effective in shutting down players and in positioning. Definitely one of the best, but underrated, D's on the Flyers.
1. Grossman
2. Gustafsson
3. Lilja

Yes, and it took a few draft picks to trade for him. A question is his shape after injury. Nice to have someone, though, more than Hjalmarsson, on the team that knows his defensive role. Hedman is just scary at the moment, not particularly good. Guy needs a war.

Flip the coin on the "any defender who can play forward" question to "any forward who can play defense"?

Well, well. The promising D of this team as seen some weeks ago seems not to full-fill the expectations. in fact neither do the goalies or the forwards.

The bright spot is that the top 6/top 4 is good and of course that we still have hope for future additions.
