Any one on here play inline at Bladium or Dry ice? Looking to join one of those leagues in fall or winter. Just trying to get a sense of how the level of play is. I realize most here play ice but I figured I'd ask.

Everyone is set with goalies for the winter?

This is frustrating.

Dependent upon what level you want to play in, the new season (Winter) should be starting up relatively soon. I would recommend to put your name on the free agent list: http://liahl.org/freeagents.php

I would definitely list in the form whether you want to play as a full time player, part time player or a sub. You can also mention what position you would like to play (if you are up to playing defense, you might have a better chance of getting a call).

The fees can be about $500-$600 (full time), half that for part time and subs can pay anywhere from $20-$30 per game played. You will also need to register with USA Hockey to get your USA Hockey number so that the Captain of the team you join can add you into the system.

We have a very strict no a-hole policy. I've only had to ask one person to not come back in the 2 years I've been buying the ice. We have a great group and it's a big deal that we don't screw up the chemistry.

Send me a PM and I can give you the details.
I've gone to a number of these pickups over the past couple of years and they are a blast. Great group of guys. Definitely recommended. I know I'll be going back when I return to NorCal next month.

Hey Guys,

I have a team in 5D that will be looking for a couple of full time players this season.

PM me if you are interested or know anyone who may be looking for a team this season.

Thanks

You would think so, wouldn't you? I played on a Tuesday night team in Fremont a few years ago and one duster crosschecked me in the face (fortunately I was wearing a cage) and then turned around and knocked 6 teeth out of my teammates mouth with a two-hander.

Next up was punching the ref who tried to keep him from getting KILLED by the recently toothless guy.

They actually had a felony assault warrant out for the guy. Guess what? He's playing in Fremont again. Great job, Tyler...Still keeping it fun in rec league hockey, I see.

Uhh I'm pretty sure this cost them a pretty penny to customize. Obviously well worth the league fees.

Speaking of league fees..

We are pretty much screwed because there are no other rinks, right? It goes up EVERY season with no improvements added or made. If trends hold, nest winter is going to be $10k + per team.

I did forget to mention that instead of the typical buy 2 get one pitcher free coupon, I swear 2 years ago it was a free pitcher, we got 3 free pitchers. Those lasted all of 5 minutes with the 15 that showed up for our championship game.

It would just be nice if they showed some sort of gratitude to the people who help make that place function by throwing money at them. I'm not asking for a $200 bar tab or anything, and would honestly happily accept no longer being forcibly penetrated in an uncomfortable place by increasing league fees.

The closest to San Jose are Fremont, which is sharks ice as well so it would be the same, PHA and Redwood city

Honestly, given the demand on the ice time they have available, I'm surprised it's not more. Or that we're not playing some games at 2am.

Sucks, but supply/demand dictates. Until there is more ice, the price ain't going anywhere but up.

Monopoly. Sharks ice can do whatever they want. Otherwise you can settle for crap rinks as listed above.

I counted 171 teams in the adult league last season. Any idea how many they had when they had the 2 sheets?
