The Blues have been so unimpressive. I thought they would be better than this. Their fans bragged about how awesome McDonald is before the series began, and he's been invisible.

How did San Jose get destroyed so badly by this overrated Blues team?

Bad matchup...excellent PP against really bad PK.

I'm having a hard time comprehending what is happening right now, but I sure am enjoying every minute of it.

You don't get anything for three. Close it out on Sunday boys.

GO KINGS GO!

I haven't seen anything from the Blues remotely resembling an excellent PP.

They were able to intimidate the Sharks. They can't do that with the bigger Kings.

Not this year, no. But the past seasons were important for experience.

They are delusional. There is no other way of putting it. I don't think I have ever lost more respect for a fanbase than I have for them in this series.

Before the series it was...

"The Kings wins in the regular season meant nothing because Andy McGretzky and Thomas Steen's son didn't play in the games this season"

Mario McDonald has 2 points in 3 games, both points coming in game 2 with the result all but decided. When the Blues needed a key goal or play when the game was tied or they were down a goal the future Hall of Famer has been completely shut down by Doughty or The Rock of Gibraltar. But he has contributed quite a bit by helping dig pucks out of his own net, that is invaluable.

As for Thomas Steen's son, another missing piece we didn't have to deal with this season. His 0 points, -3 and gutless penalty, yeah he was a real difference maker for them. I think they might have swept the season series if he were healthy.

Can't forget the part about blaming the refs for the SH goal by Greene in Game 2.

"We were so dismayed and shell shocked that only a 2 minute penalty was called, our Selke candidate captain coasted back and let a defensive d-man with 11 career goals in almost 500 games go 200 feet to score the GW SHG."

Clearly if the right call were made and Dwight King was executed for touching the Golden One, we would have scored 5 times on that 5 minute major and won the game.

Next up it was...

"Things would have been different in game 2 if Petro were playing"

And they were right, in game 2 the Kings scored 5 goals against the Blues. With Petro back in the lineup tonight the Kings scored only 4 goals, with the Golden One being on the ice for 3 of them. Clearly had he been there in Game 2 the Kings would have probably lost 5 or 6-1, he is that good. That 4-0 lead after one would have probably been flipped to a 4-0 advantage for the Blues.

Now the new flavor of the day is..

"If only Halak were playing"

From the same fanbase who last week was saying how great Elliot was and how he wasn't a system goalie.

I assume after the sweep on Sunday we will be hearing "If only Arnott were able to go, he would have changed the outcome of this series, he did score a cup winning goal during the Clinton administration after all.

I just love the fact Penner joined Twitter:

Kopi: "Sometimes hitting the empty net is not that easy...#yikes"

Penner: "Don't worry kopi. I think I saw the net was off its pegs....shoulda just banked it off the boards..."

Classic!

Just got home from the game. What a night.

Doughty was incredible. Regardless of points, that was the player we thought we had.

I love everyone on this team. I don't even know how to react to this feeling. Uncharted territory.

Mike Richards proving just why he's such a damn valuable player. Gordie Howe Hat Trick, set the tone early with a one sided win, he's a jack of all trades.

TSN replay of the game is now available on the PS3 and Apple TV w/GameCenter (labeled as Blues feed). NBC is the Kings feed.

Missed the game.

Obviously I'm thrilled with the result though. Everything is so going well for us right now. It's unbelievable. Everything seems to be coming together at the right time.

Did anyone catch when on the NBC feed that after a few shifts of taking runs at Doughty, Hayward caught Doughty skating by the Blues' bench and saying "you guys aren't fast enough to hit me?" bahahah.

What a strange, strange, awesome feeling this is.

"It's about time we gave the fans the best. We haven't been, from our standards, up to par at home for sure. We've played well and won a lot of games on the road but to give them a good, solid, 60-minute effort like this was important for us.

To get that standing ovation, the way they were cheering at the end, I had chills going through the pile at the end. It means a lot to us in here. We have a lot of pride and a lot of respect for our fans."

They looked good against The Sharks. Really good.

LA is just beating them at their own game, and The Blues can't seem to adapt. Plain and simple.
