Chris Kreider or Louis Leblanc ?

Just saying...I would've pick Kreider..man 6f3 225 pounds, this guy was my pick and I suspect Timmins would've been killed for not picking Leblanc in 2009.

That's why there's no equal talent, I mean I like Leblanc and he may turn to be an Antoine Vermette kinda guy but Kreider has such a higher ceilling...

Just like Perron (soft) vs Pacioretty.

You mean Chris? Really too soon to tell imo. Let's wait another 2-3 years, Leblanc needs to add muscles first.

Yeah, Kreider is looking good right now, but I still think Louis will be a very useful player once he gets stronger. Have to give Timmins a pass on this one, he gets torn to a new one by some of the media for not picking Q stars, and then the draft is in Montreal and you want him to pass on the local kid? Hopefully the gap between the two players is not huge in the long term.

Chris was the guy I wanted, but so far can't really complain of Leblanc's play

I think LeBlanc will eventually be the better player. Kreider has good physical tools but his hockey IQ is not on the level LeBlanc's is.

Kreider played NCAA at 18-19 and 20 and didn't really tear it up...114 GP 49-43-92...despite being big and fast. He strikes me as a Chad Kilger or Victor Stalberg type with size and speed but not much else.

If they both have the same amount of talent, and equal ceiling, i'd go for the local boy.

One's a playmaker, the other is a goalscorer. Different skill sets, different ceilings.

So which one is better and has a higher ceiling?

To me they have the same talent level and have the same ceiling, they just play differently. Incidently they have the same salary, so I assume the Canucks value them the same.

How many of them saw him play, and how many based that on his height?

This thread only comes up now because Kreider has had an impact recently, and people are talking about him. He may very well be better than Leblanc, but let's not pretend like this would be a thread if Kreider was held pointless in his callup.

Its hard to pick really, but I don't have that extensive knowledge of both players, but I was really impressed by Louis Leblanc.

I think his style of play is more of what we need. He is really good on the boards, and throws hits, and he did a good job at doing that, playing at around only 175Ibs, I believe he had shoulder surgery last offseason, so hopeful this summer he will bulk up while training with Erik Cole.

Also hasn't he basically played in as a rookie 4 different leagues for 4 different coaches in the past 4 years also? Really shows how high his hockey IQ is.

Fact is we were still looking for that big PF and a lot of us wanted Kreider. I liked Leblanc too but it was clear CK had more potential with his combination of size and speed, and it's unfortunate we HAD to pick the French speaker. That said if LL can improve his speed/strength I guess it won't matter too much, but drafting CK completely changes the team's dynamic.

Kreider reminds me of Benoit Pouliot.
