Best rookie in 2012/2013

Who do you think will win the most valuable Habs rookie award next season?

This season Emelin won it.

Louis Leblanc..(Is he even eligible ?)

Or

Forsberg.

Galchenyuk, Grigorenko, Dumba, Murray and TT have no chance at making the NHL next season.

That's simply not true.

since our first pick will likely spend the next season in Hamilton, I would have to give it to St-Denis or Tinordi if gets the chance.

A special mention to Leblanc who will perform a lot more confidently.

Gallagher might sit this season in Hamilton due to smallness factor of players like Gionta and Desharnais and a team of small body-built.

1) also not true. Any kids playing CHL wouldn't be allowed to play AHL next year

2) St-Denis might not qualify for rookie status anymore, he's like 25-26

Our likely pick will be Grigorenko, last year's number 3 pick (Huberdeau) is still playing in the minors.

St-Denis is older but not too old.

Huberdeau is playing in junior... Not the AHL.

Yeah, minors means AHL

I don't know if Leblanc's past season would qualify as a rookie year, and he should be developing in the AHL to start next season, hopefully. I just don't see us having a rookie on the team full time next year. Hoping for some smart short term UFA signings to clog holes until our drafted players are ready to make an impact.

Leblanc i guess, if he is even with the team, barring injuries dont see anyone we would call up or have as a rookie in the lineup, 2013/2014 we can maybe have more of a debate

David Fischer, I hear he's tearing up the ECHL . . .

methinks whomever we pick 3rd but if we're including Leblanc (not technically a rookie), then Leblanc

3 simple rules

-26 yo and under on september 15
- less than 26 games in a season
- less than 7 games in 2 precedent different seasons

1 Raphael Diaz 59
2 Louis Leblanc 42
3 Alexei Emelin 67
4 Blake Geoffrion 35
5 Aaron Palushaj 38

they all consumed their rookie season

i'm going to go with Ellis...

bit darkshorse, but he'll probably be 200pds+ come training camp, and his versatility & reliability should help make him more "nhl-ready" than either Beaulieu & Tinordi, both of whom probably have higher ceilings but who have more noticeable flaws to work out.

up front, Gallagher is the obvious pick, but i'll put my money on Engqvist... Came on strong to end the season last year, big frame & good hands, depending on how the summer works out, should once again find himself with a great opportunity to make the opening day roster.

Grigo can play in the AHL next year. I believe Galchenyuk as well.

You're right.

Dumba and Murray could make a good impact. But since our D seem's okay I think they should stay in the W/O one more season.
And about the forwards I don't think none of them could make it.

The only one that could make it is TT. But he'll likely wont. To be succesful those kid's need's three first line minutes. Galchenyuk and Grigorenko are likely out since they are centers (altought Grigo could start at RW).

Only possible choice : Forsberg
(Am I a good seller ? )

will we even have a rookie in the line-up next year? All our young players aren't rookies anymore. The following year would be a better bet. Next season though.. ish.

They aren't from canada. A guy like Tinordi could've played in AHL right after he was drafted.

Maybe I'm wrong but I thought guys coming in through import draft aren't protected. Not sure about galchenyuk as from USA.
