Are they afraid to shoot the puck? That period was a disgrace, refusing to shoot, at some point board work has to lead to shots, not with this team.

Also the amount of holding and hooking that the Caps are getting away with is ridiculous. On the last play Fedotenko and Boyle were both held, hooked, and Boyle was almost tackled. If you are going to let it go then don't call a PP for an interference earlier in the game.

It's amazing what Stralman gets called for and what Green, Carlson, and Hamrlik can get away with in their defensive zone...not like the Rangers power play would do much with it though.

Really don't like these new lines, get Boyle away from Gaborik and put Gabby back with Richie and Hags, that combination works and has proven so multiple times.

40 minutes to start playing NYR hockey.

LGR
That probably was a penalty on Stralman, but it wasn't a "definite", unless they're going to call all the off puck interference Washington does.

Lundqvist made a lot of great, tough stops, but he couldn't make the routine stop. Go figure.

You know, Henrik seems to always have a tough time stopping shots over his shoulder. Most of the goals against him so far has been 1 or 2 hole.

We should be more desperate, we can't lose road-ice advantage.

Tort's needs to get his guys to screen the ****ing goalie and stay between the circles. I would love to see the Boyle, Rupp, Gabby line again solely for this purpose.

I'm so confused.

How is this team able to block shots from some of the hardest shooting players in the league, but they can't go in front of the net? Unreal.

Period of Game 4 against Ottawa begs to differ.

It was bad but all their pressure and determination gives them but a single goal. Nothing we can't answer back.

Now that DVR caught up with live TV, I have to rip into Hank again. The team was absolute garbage, but once again I don't care how many ****ing great you are all game, that goal was a ****ing disgrace. There's NO EXCUSE for that ****. An ECHL level goalie should stop that. Thanks Hank again for giving up a garbage goal.

All Kreider had to do was put it hard off the boards. Bad job by him.

We have ZERO triangularization in our set ups. Its pretty much all flat schemes or circular.

This isn't a player thing mind you, this is a coaching set up.
Yup. As much as I love how stingy our system is, Torts has to reformat it, the offense is incredibly frustrating to watch when we just cycle the puck between three players. It seems like there is no end game with that method, especially with our D's inability to hit the net from the point.

Had to figure Washington was going to throw everything they had at the Rangers early. Down one isn't all that bad. If Washington is going to do the Ottawa send everyone in on the forecheck, there are going to be odd-man breaks.

This isn't all that bad right now.

I would just like the team to go to the net, all they are doing is cycling and failing to throw the puck on net. NBC showed almost all of their goals were scored down low, one would think Torts would stress this.

The fix is on. NHL won't allow the Rangers to take 2 out of 2 games in Washington, and basically end the series with a 3-1 lead. Refs will get worse and worse as the game progresses.

is ****** Walkom the ref today. I'm just guessing since the Caps are allowed too many men, as well as free roam to hook and hold, that it must be him.

Are we afraid to shoot on no name goalies because we are afraid to hurt their feelings?

I hope the Rangers can keep moving on playing the way they do...if they are able to reach the promised land playing like this...itll be the first time in history a team reaches the promised land without scoring a goal...hahahahaa

We were lucky they didn't score on the PP. Kreider with the awful giveaway and even then, Hank almost stopped it. With a little luck Mitchell buries that puck and we're up 1-0. Just come out stronger next period, we already know Torts will be ripping into them.

This is a must win for us today. We have to take it back to the garden up 3-1 and put the dagger into them. This is a series we should be taking in 5 games, not 7. It's ours to take, we cannot give it away.

They have been screening the goalie(too much imo).

The problem is when we gain possession on the half wall we are simply dumping it back in the corner. JUST ONCE, I would like to see a ranger get position on the half wall and skate it into the slot for a shot.
