Redlihs and Sprukts are simply fantastic this game (makes the russian defenders dizzy) and Indrasis supplement them well.

This is probably the weakest Russian defense squad from the recent years, and this is saying something.
Varlamov doesn't impress.
Forwards don't have any chemistry yet, but it's at least expected.

Good game so far! Liking the Latvian effort so far, even though Russia looks a bit... "typically russian" in their play, very spectacular individual efforts, but the defensive and team efforts aren't quite there. Still early in the tournament though.

Damn wrong thread. No it wasn't!

Agreed. What's the price for decent seats in Helsinki? When Finland isn't playing.
CAN - USA 156€ and 196€.

FRA - KAZ have been lowered today and it's 36€ and 56€. Starting to look very reasonable.

Most other games when FIN isn't playing is 70€ and 90€.

That's a shame. It can't be that fun for the players to play for a half full building. Nor for the fans either.
Christer Englund talked about this before this game when he was interviewed, he said that they were working on it. Christer is the President of the Swedish ice hockey association, for those who not knows.

Remember when Roberts Bukarts played a tournament in my home town some years ago. When he played for Saga Riga. If they were under a couple of goals you could always see him circling around in the neutral zone the last minutes. He could play the last 10 if he had too. He was always up there in the stats. Think they were here 2 or 3 years in a row. The last year they attended they were sent home just half way through the tournament due to some incidents.

Is the KHL playoffs still on-going? Shouldn't Yakupov be on the squad?
Where are the KHL aces like Morozov, Zaripov, Zinovyev,Mozyakin etc?

Tough to watch Datsyuk play with Kuznetsov who doesnt seem to have any hockey sense...

Two weak penalties and two goals. Such a cruel deflection up high on Nikulin's first. Our PK looks weak, it's not like there was anything going on before that Malkin-Nikulin one-two.
