Now if you mean a Philly esque off season than I could agree with you, the new GM could pull off some bigger moves this off season.
Or he means the Philly-esque rebuild of a few years ago, the one where they finished second last in the league and drafted JVR 2nd overall.

Theyre definately rebuilding and if you dont think so then youre in for a hell of a season. Other than subban how many players have the habs drafted since 2007 thats played for them?

Bust -> KHL?

Are you serious? Do you realise how many teams want a goalie like Konstantin Barulin?

Ont:

I think Jacob Markstrom, Eddie Lack and Hackett are all possibilities

Hackett is a beast. I remember in the AHL playoffs he had that monster OT period. He looked like a man possessed. Definitely a bright future.

Goalies that will be a lock ONCE they get their chance are....

Bernier
Markstrom

Everybody else is a crap shoot. But the two guys listed above have what it takes right now. They just need a chance. Markstrom might get his chance next year. Bernier will need to be traded.

They finished 6th last year, this year they were the most injured team in the league and now they have the 3rd overall pick this year. They have a really good chance at getting back in the playoffs next year.

Pacioretty and Weber from 2007. Leblanc from 2009. So 4 in total so far, which is pretty decent considering our first pick 2008 wasn't until 56th and the guys from 2010 and 2011 haven't had enough development time yet.

Visentin (Phoenix)
Bernier (Los Angeles)
Campbell (Dallas)
Gibson (Anaheim)
Hackett (Minnesota)
Bunz (Edmonton)
Markstrom (Florida)
Holtby (Washington)
Lehner (Ottawa)

Not saying they all will, these guys are the most likely to become studs, though.

Funny enough, Minnesota has Kuemper, who some think might be better than Hackett and Gustafsson, who is doing great out in the SEL.

He isn't consistent enough, but when he's on top he can be close to the top tier.

Pavelec looks real good.

Im not hyped on Lehner ..yet. Everytime we call him up he dominates. Then we send him down and hes his average as it goes.

You don't know much about the Habs don't you?

Theres also this ''Max Pacioretty'' guy, don't know if you've heard from him. Oh and Louis Leblanc. Brendan Gallagher, Nathan Beaulieu and Jarred Tinordi are also coming up soon, all decent prospects. With the 3rd overall this year and four 2nd rounders in the next two drafts I think the Habs are going to have a good prospect pool for years to come.

The Habs have a decent core of good young players and an all-star goalie. I'm confident they can make the playoffs next year with a coach that won't be guaranteed to lose his job. All they need is a good off-season (a good signing or two and not even star players).

They are imho in a much better shape than the Leafs, who are year after year establishing themselves as a true bottom feeder at worse, playoff pretenders at very best. You would probably like the Habs to be in such a terrible posture as your team but I sincerely doubt it happens. Last season was an abberation.

Not being a homer but Washington has 3 very good young goalies in Neuvirth, Holtby, and the emergence of Grubauer. Also have Soberg who is considered a decent prospect. One of these guys could emerge as the next big goaltender in the NHL. I know Neuvirth has had a down year but as soon as he consistency down he will be a great NHL goaltender. I mean he has only lost one playoff series his whole career in North America as the starter and that was last year to the Tampa Bay Lightning.

What... You're expecting consistency out of a 23-24 year old goaltender?

First off, they had a bad year; the team is still built to be playoff competitive. Second, what's the reasoning for picking 2007? How does that make for a fact that their rebuilding? How many players have the Leafs drafted since 07 that have played for them?

You have a flawed and confusing argument here.
