Actually it was not all that stupid. The second linesman waved off the icing, Holtby was not as aware as he should have been. Unfortunately Schultz saw it, Holtby didn't. I wish Schultz thought it was icing, he would have gone for the puck.

Doubtful.. they're probably getting praise for not giving up 3 goals.. Watch them get the majority of the icetime in the 3rd.

DH is a joke.

lol watch Sarge making S turns before the goal. i think the linesman wrongly called that puck tipped by Wideman.

I would have loved to have seen Montana and Orlov in this series.

Minor Premise: This is turning into a game of mistakes.
Major Premise: The Caps are pretty good at making mistakes.
Conclusion: 11am isn't too early to start drinking.

I did learn something useful in philosophy 101.

Hunter has been pairing Laich/Ovechkin/Johannson with wideman/Shultz a lot throughout the playoffs.

Bring on Erskine/Orlov please. I don't see why Wideman is on the ice. He's an offense-minded defenseman with no offense.

Maybe so but even that is clutching at straw, fact is Wideman/Schultz are so pathetic i'm struggling to find the words to describe it. 3 minutes to go you don't make a mistake like that,

Fred, continue with your videos please. At work they are the only things I can watch, otherwise it's just boxscore stats. Many thanks.

All those points he got us in the regular season have given him leeway to be on the ice for 75% of the goals we've had scored against us in the post season.

Can't wait to hear Milbury's analysis of this period.
Holtby could have noticed that the linesman had called it off and yelled to the d. All three are at fault and left with egg on their faces. A replay would show if the linesman made a mistake for calling it off. But then again the Ranger was there first so icing would have been waved off anyway.

It's not like it is easy to get goals against Lundquist. Can be done but Caps can't be taking penalties and have to "player harder". As Beaudrou would say.

Anyone else think Wideman is slower than Sarge today. Pretty pathetic. Orlov please.

It's also a convenient way for everyone to see replays while reading through the thread. The rest of us appreciate it.

Huge period coming up. (Mostly) looking forward to seeing what comes out of the Caps locker room.

I've come to the conclusion that Hunter hockey and Hunter personnel decisions are designed to make every Caps game no more than a 1 goal win. Losing? Let loose the dogs. Winning? Play lots of scrubs and stop forechecking.

I'm not feeling too confident. Schultz and Wideman are brutal.

Aliens.

I don't like their chances if these huge breakdowns are a sign of increasing fatigue.

They didn't give up on it per se they each thought the other was going to get it. It was just an example of terrible communication between them and to a lesser extent Holtby.

Schultz has had a great game but that was a terrible gaff on his and Wideman's fault.

Rags are outracing us to every puck, and, aside from Backstrom's pretty play, have won all puck battles. Not feeling good about the 3rd. Prove me wrong Caps.

There are a lot of people defending the fact he hit his shoulder first....well except for Rangers fans and you on the main boards calling out other Caps fans....

If the Caps win this series than it is a certified miracle. To me, they just don't seem to want it as much as the Rangers for whatever reason.
