Canada is just not prepared for this tournament, we're soft, and we're having a hard time with the big ice. Probably the worst two games to start the tourney that I've seen a Canadian team play in a long time. They barely squeaked by Slovakia and then losing to the States..Have to get our **** together.

Ummmm..no. Couldn't care less really. Mickey mouse tournament that Euros fawn over. Doesn't really showcase the best players in the world because a lot of them are fed up with hockey and would rather rest or they are still playing for the only Trophy that matters to Canadian Hockey players. Any Canadian player would rather still be playing NHL hockey than the WHC. The Euros on the other hand cherish this tournament like it is important. And you are correct, a lot of these guys wouldn't normally get to wear the Canadian jersey if it were not for this tournament.

WC results impact rankings for the Olympics.

It is funny that there isn't a standard ice size though, but took years for the NHL to have a standard ice size.

They had two five-on-three situations thanks to a match penalty to Treille. Starchenko was skating through the middle of the ice. He had the puck and his head was down, but Treille stuck out his elbow and made clean and direct contact with Starchenko’s head.

The Kazakh flew through the air and appeared unconscious as he hit the ice, but he eventually was able to leave under his own steam. Ultimately, though, he was unable to return to play.

He seems to have split himself in two, the skill portion has been seen in NA. The whiner is obviously playing in Europe.

I watched the last 13 minutes or so of the game against the Swiss. I didn't see Luke Schenn on the ice once. Sutter was basically rolling 4 defence the entire time, but Murray and Quincey would see the odd shift.

I watched that entire game and I only remember seeing Schenn touch the puck once. I wonder how much ice time he got today...

7:31, 2nd lowest on the team, ahead of only Murray.

Phaneuf played over 21 minutes though, 3rd highest on the team (only 4 seconds shy of Bouwmeester for 2nd).

Phaneuf is just plain awful. I really like Ryan Murray.

He was benched and Murray took over his spot. Don't know what has happened to him, his game has gone south. He's not nearly the player he was as rookie his confidence is completely gone.

I haven't watched him this year, but I watched him a couple years ago, and I thought going was a bad idea.

Took an elbow to the head against the boards, but jumped right back up as he usually does.

From the tidbits I saw, he looked really good out there. Dangerous.
