Bouwmeester is such a beautiful skater for an defenceman. Thought he would be amazing some day.

Nothing wrong, it still sucks. He will make NYI legit team mostly by himself. Now Canada is tough, fast and driven.

Good. Watched the beginning of that game and they were dirty as hell and would buckle to the ice at the first sign of retribution.

Komarov was playing for Finland right?

I only caught some of the game...how did he play?

Has anyone noticed that despite the fact that Team Canada has a shortage of right defenders, Sutter is only playing Phaneuf on the left side?

I think he's better for it, in my opinion.

I only watched bits and pieces of the game, but I thought he played well. Was involved physically, got the under the skin of a few Canadian players, and even managed to create a scoring chance or two. Definitely appeared to be a player who, if he can keep his emotions in check, could be an effective player in the NHL.

I could be wrong since I haven't been watching the world championships too intently, but he does seem to get beat less often on the left side.

We can make fun of the Borat team, but these guys almost beat the USA yesterday.

Phaneuf gets his second of the game. 7-0. The new Kazakh goalie has the tiniest pads.

Did he get a chance to warm up? Isn't that a bit dangerous if he didn't.
