Was Halishuck even hurt? Why the **** are we reviewing routine boarding plays? Were the Predators org. crying about this?

Agreed on your basic premise, but it's not just Shanahan making these calls in a vacuum. There would have to be a pretty big turnover to make things change, and it would likely have to include Bettman.

Future Shanahan 2013 ruling: "All hockey players will now have to wear those rubber Michelin man suits before they take the ice".

Must be a central division sense of entitlement going on.

Unless your name is J.S. Giguere, then it's against the rules.

I generally do not believe in conspiracies, but I'm starting to wonder. Our guy is boarded, and no league review, but Klesla has a hearing. Gordon elbow to the head, nada, Torres, 3rd longest suspension in league history. Ovechkin...waiting to see.

That. When the options are a deep, well-hidden conspiracy involving multiple players or pure stupidity, stupidity is always the best explanation. The number of stupid people in the world vastly outnumbers the number of people capable of pulling off a conspiracy competently.

Clear New York Islanders bias.

So why does it make a difference if Klesla grabbed Halischuk's jersey?

The Nashville board and even the playoff board are in need of more tinfoil hats and wine.

Apparently the pulling of the jersey was a deliberate premeditated act to throw Halishuck off balance before shoving him head first into the boards (I paraphrase).

I've been away all day and I come back to this...I seriously can't even believe they're having a hearing for Klesla over that hit. Words can't express my frustration here, this is wrong, it shouldn't be happening. The NHL and Shanahan should honestly be ashamed of themselves.

Halischuk was pinballing all over the place there. Was Klesla supposed to pirouette out of the way and lower him gently to the ground?

Hardly an unseen hit from behind when Halischuk bowled into him seconds before, he knows full well Klesla's there and hardly about to let him skate away with the puck there.

Klesla would be a huge loss, but we have Schlemko and Stone.

It is shameful how openly they seem to be against the coyotes. And the guy who has taken the most physical abuse so far is Klesla but apparently you can do these to coyotes players and get away with it. I think the NHL is going to far to prove they are not biased towards the Coyotes.

Looking at the Nashville board its mostly two posters who have a long history of anti-Yote diatribes trying to generate bad feeling.

The Preds forum has some great posters alongside the usual homer tendencies. If it was the Coyotes down 1-3, I'd probably be focusing on the hit too.

It did make me chuckle that while Whitney was praised for checking on Halischuk, Klesla was apparently unsporting for not doing so. Well, he did have the little matter of two Preds jumping on his back and trying to punch his lights out. A tad hard to inquire after Halischuk's health at that point! Especially after Halischuk had just pinballed into him at top speed.

I kind of think it's interesting to see how the stories are written about the Klesla and Ovechkin hits on nhl.com. The Klesla story focuses on the "pulling of the jersey" while the Ovechkin story headline focuses on the fact that the players have "differing accounts" of whether it was a hit to the head.

It really feels like we're being set up here for a suspension to Klesla for a jersey pull and a light punishment for Ovechkin if the league can find any way to say it was a shoulder hit.

They will just push the Ovechkin hit under the rug and hope people forget about it.

Fact is, Ovechkin left the ice just like Torres, and the head was hit at some point.

If they are trying to get these kind of hits out of the game, then they need to do something about it. This whole process in general is a joke.

As far as Klesla goes, I can understand the fact that he pulled the jersey then pushed him into the boards, not safe at all for the player, which makes sense. I can't argue that.

I just disagree with the inconsistency with how things are done as far as discipline goes.

I know I've switched my opinion that the NHLPA should have a greater influence on supplementary discipline after the inconsistency this playoffs. Shanahan made his statement with the Torres hit. Now he's got to live with the standard he set and I have zero sympathy.

If Shanny wasn't such a moron, he'd have given Torres five and then he could give ovechkin two, and nobody would bemoan the inconsistency. Now its going to be 25 versus zero and the whole world is going to see right through this joke of a system. Idiot.

is there even a chance that he wont be suspended? they wouldn't have a hearing without condemning him first?

Anyone else find it pointless to get angry about something that MAY happen, but hasn't yet?
