I agree with this. goalie wants to play the puck... they should be fair game like a defenseman or forward. let toots smack that sissy smith one good time

Every time the puck is behind the net, he stands back there with it taking up as much space as possible and only passing it out at the last second. He knows that if an opponent initiates contact it will be a penalty. The only decent part of this is that he has a tendency to make mistakes handling the puck.

The plays that you mentioned, and last night when the Preds had some good pressure and momentum, Smith conveniently needs to have his equipment adjusted...

I suppose if he were on my team I would be applauding him for his sneaky gamesmanship, but as an opponent it's extremely frustrating. Similar to Hasek constantly knocking the net loose.
Seriously. That guy is a ******. The acting job he did on the Shaw hit was so embarrassing; this is why if you receive a hard hit to the head, you should be required to spend 15 minutes in the quiet room...bet Smith wouldn't have been quite so dramatic if he knew it would require him to come out of the game. Jerk. I've noticed the same thing with him just chillin behind the net with the puck...I said to my friend it might be worth it to just sacrifice Toots and let him run his ass.

As for Klesla, the jersey grab is gonna doom him. Not cool bro.

I played goal all through my minor and junior career and I was never afraid to give or take a hit if I played the puck behind the net.

Yotes fan coming in peace! I don't get how Klesla gets a hearing, yet Boulion doesn't get one for his hit on Gordon. Consistency has just been horrid. Gl in game 5 boys.

That's the part that will get him. I think a fine is just right for this case, no need for suspension. If it were just a hit and Hali's momentum carried him into the boards, then it's just a boarding. But the pulling his jersey and shoving him into the boards will draw the $2500.

I applaud Halischuk for not milking that one, he was uninjured so he got back up. Although it could have benefited the Preds more in terms of maybe a major, or double minor if he were "hurt" on the play.

Bouillon didn't grab the jersey of Gordon, then shove him face first into the boards.

I'm not convinced that Bouillon's was even penalty-worthy. Klesla's...well...the jersey grab should've made it a major.

How was there not a hearing for the crosscheck to Tootoo's head? That was more egregious than Bouillon's hit.

Klesla's grab and pull on the jersey followed by a hard boarding play is what earned him the hearing. IT was a lot more than just a shove or hit. IT was a pull back into a position where a harder shove head first into the boards was possible. Watching it, I thought it was worthy of a major and gamer. In stead we get Shanny involved.

"Replays showed that Klesla appeared to grab the back of Halischuk’s jersey before slamming him into the boards. Nashville coach Barry Trotz called it “a very dangerous hit....
Klesla grabs Halischuk’s shirt and pulls him back — and I know that is the whiplash effect — and then you push him right between the numbers when he is facing the boards, and it was really dangerous in my eyes.”

"Meanwhile, Trotz said Saturday that “there’s a high probability” forwards Alexander Radulov and Andrei Kostitsyn will be back in the lineup after missing the past two games."

There is a high probability that the two of the three best offensive forwards Nashville has to offer will be back after a 1-0 loss? Thanks, Barry. I was having a hard time with that prediction

Even one game would be huge (and deserved); Klesla is a solid player and I'll take any advantage we can get ahead of our game @ PHX.

Thought we would have heard a decision by now; any idea when it's coming based on previous hearings?

Any word yet? I assume it's gonna be nothing, maybe a fine.

Well, that's always nice. I thought it should be a fine, but no complaints here.

What does Shanny's job pay? I'm sure I'd be more affordable for the league.

Great news. That game in Phoenix is the most important one.

I don't want to troll, but aren't the next three games all equally important?

I think the suspension is reasonable. Though it sucks seeing star after star after star getting away with the same.

The next game is always the most important, but I've seen this type of NHL playoff comeback done several times. The closer you get the snowball gets bigger...

Down 3-1. Preds don't have home ice advantage...

First game is on the road, backs against the wall, no momentum going into the game. It's like climbing a mountain.

Second game. You come back at home. The decibels will be through the roof. The players will be jacked up.

Third game. Momentum is clearly in Nashville's favor. Phoenix will be ******** bricks, wondering why they didn't close the series down when they had the opportunity.

There is no game 6 if we don't win game 5, therefore game 5 is the most important.

I don't have stats, but I would bet the winning percentage of the team down 1-3, is very low and gets much higher as it goes forward. Something along the lines of:

1-3: team with the lead wins that game 80% of the time.
2-3: team with the lead wins that game 65% of the time.
3-3: teams are 50-50 to win that game.

I'm just glad I don't have to listen to the announcers say Rusty Klesla every five seconds.
