****in Malkin is tearing up the WC. Wish he would have played like this in the POs.

He's tearing it up, but he's tied with a guy from Norway who has played one less game than him. Of course the WC's are easier.

Having goaltenders capable of posting shut outs helps. Russia has had three so far, Varly is around 94%, and the backups have posted even better numbers. And having a solid defense helps a lot, too. Bill has put together a really good team, and is doing a great job behind the bench. So, if anything, I wish the Pens would have played more like the Russian team as a whole.

I always knew you were a straight up racist. Anti-Finn sentiment will not be tolerated. Our pasty skinned, sauna loving brethren from the northern tundra have been abused for too long! It's clear now your bias against Jarko Ruutu had nothing to do with hockey.

Geno missed a shot (though the defender may have gotten a piece). Then they showed him on the bench taking tape off his hand.

It is 1-1, Chara & Semin with goals

2-1 Russia, Perezhogin

3-1 Tereshenko

4-1 Semin again

In addition to winning gold for the first time with Russia, Malkin was named Best Forward and MVP of the tournament. He's also the first player since Gretzky to win the Art Ross and also lead the IIHF World Cup in scoring in the same season.

Man, I sure hope Kadar helps him train again this year in Moscow. I can only imagine what kind of season Malkin will have fully recovered from his surgery and in top condition. And if Sid starts the season the same way ... wow. Look out NHL

I applaud your positive, glass-half-full thinking but those two things won't win us a Cup if our goalie and defense is still lacking in some respect. But yah, fireworks for sure on the offensive side at least.

I actually heard him on the radio saying that was probably the only time ever I felt calling to say are you serious? what a m.... and someone pays this guy to say this. and after that put out column about scuderi as if he was the best player on the planet
