i wanted Russia to win, but I wouldn't have been too upset if Slovakia had won either. I still remember him there last year
It's all because Demitra wasn't just a teammate. He was guys' best friend. He was so close to them, they grew-up with him, they were spending summer times, vacations together. They lost their brother.
In such a small country as Slovakia is, Demitra's loss was huge blow to all of us. We lost our hockey hero, but guys (players) lost a family member !
This is the first year I actually believe the World Championships are much more credible than the Stanley Cup playoffs. It's hard to admit that cause I'm completely pro NHL but after this years first round this is how I've felt. Much better hockey and much more skill by far in the WHC. The NHL needs to take a long look this summer at the fact they're headed toward a soccer style boring game. I miss the 2006-2010 open style back and forth hockey. What is going on??????

Well i'm in Northern Ontario and don't know many bigger hockey fans then myself. There's been some good matchups, but some of the hockey's been terrible. NJ and Philly just went around petting each other all series. I've been watching avidly since 89-90 and can honestly say this year the worlds seemed a lot bigger than the playoffs.
