2 were with Zetterberg on the ice, 2 and 1 assist with Hedman on the ice. It's not like he is doing this against Latvia! Just amazing.

You could really tell the bad blood between Zetterberg, Franzén and Malkin.

The swedish pbp guys were so clueless about it.

"You know, there really seems to be some history between these guys. I wonder what happened"

"I don't know, It must've been something from earlier in the game. But you know, there is alot of chirping down ice. Alot of things that we, up here, can't hear. Maybe that's what's did it"

"It must be!"

the most important question: is there an award Malkin can win for his outstanding performance?

Malkin is just entering a new realm of awesomeness.

He has 12 points in 5 games. The record is 30 points I believe.

Should Russia go all the way he'd need 18 points or more in 5 games. That's 3 a game. Can't see it sadly but it's good to see him tearing it up.

Wow Malkin almost singlehandedly destroyed Sweden today. Scored a Hattrick, 5 points, on the ice on all 7 goal and was just dominant

Zetterberg has always been Geno's *****. Remember the game this year. ****, in the 2009 finals, any time Malkin ended up on the ice against Zetterberg, he owned him.

He got interfered with and knocked down on his first two plays then scored. Reminds me of the Tampa game. Don't poke the bear.

Yea, I have been as tough on him as anybody, but now I wonder if it wasn't on him. I thought he wore himself out maybe, but that looks not to be the case. Maybe Kirk had a point with the whole emotion thing.

Damien Brunner from Switzerland is really really good. We have had thread here about him some months ago, that the Penguins showed some interest in him. Shero knows about him. Grab him, please!

Rumors from Swiss hockey media say Brunner has several offers, with Minnesota being the frontrunners.

Ovechkin and Semin are joining the Russians.

If they don't win it all I'll be shocked.

Isn't the whole first group stage technically the first round though? So they'd be well in time.

Maybe now Kulemin will get bumped to play with Malkin? Ovechkin can spread out the offense and play with Semin on L2.

How's Geno been doing? I've read a lot about his tearing it up in beast mode. Anyone watching his game?

I'll never watch the WC but from what i've been hearing aswell, he's in beast mode. If so, wonder where this Geno was in the playoffs?

I meant the first round of the playoffs rather than the group stages, doesn't seem fair but it's great for a team like Russia whose players value this tournament.

Well, he has been collecting points all over the place. 8 goals, 6 assists in 8 games, I think. It's been their first serious opponent though today, so that's why I was just so darn impressed with him defensively.

I thought it was 13 points in 6 games? their last game was game 5, Malkin had 5 points.
