The US needs to be far better in this one.

Really excited for this early mathcup. USA looked good against Czech but will hopefully be a little better against Slovakia. Might have to with a good performance from Flovakia today. USA 3-1

I was really impressed with Slovakia today. They'll have to play a great game to beat the US but I think they're up for it, calling an upset here.

4-3 Slovakia

5-2 USA, even if the Slovakians can outplay the Americans they will still have a tough time beating Gillies, he is an absolute beast.

Only one hope for this game. or two - be it a fair game and FFS let that O'Regan kid score a couple and set up a couple as well. I need some urgent points in my pool! But this guy just seemed so snakebitten in the first game.

Slovaks are being a bit overrated. They played a fatigued and totally uninspired german team. Theyre defence was horrid. No real test for Slovaks offensively or defensively at all. Yes they were still impressive but the US will be too strong for them in all areas. Slovak defence wont hold. 6-2 final score

There might be an iota of truth there if not more. The Germans must have been tired - they looked so lost and disinterested to engage.

Yet Slovaks will give the Americans a run for their money - and it can go either way. Gilles (sp?} makes me think Yankees will take it home eventually. After a hard battle.

Dan O'Regan hopefully makes himself heard on the score sheet. Patrik Luza should get some friggin points too. It's about time.

Tatar was amazing in the WJC. I think the Slovaks have a couple game breakers in his mold in Reway and Danko now. The US has to come out strong to best the Slovaks. They are not a lightweight relegation team anymore. US speed alone should make the difference, but the Slovaks play a great team game. Good luck to both teams

Team USA must rely on their speed and grit to get anything out of this showdown Otherwise Slovaks skilled forwards will decide this for their favor.

They played an uninspired German team, and still kept the flame burning the entire game. It's possible they could be a bit fatigued themselves today from yesterday's performance.

Almost the entire team has played together for 20 games (this year alone) against grown men, and a couple have played in the KHL. All but three on the roster were born in 1994, so they have an "old" team that has had an extra year to develop compared to many others. I don't think they are overrated. Their top two lines are defenitely dangerous.

I agree that they weren't really tested yesterday though, especielly defensively.
