Offense has been just as bad. The Devs coaches have game planned us to perfection. They go to spots before we even skate to them, they know exactly what we are doing at every moment.
The offense has been bad no doubt, but so much of that is generated from the break out that it is understandable why its been this bad. The flyers offense is dependent on getting a solid rush in neutral zone and being able to gain the zone cleanly either by carrying it in or by dumping it and being the first to reach the puck.
Right now 90% of the time the break out of the defensive zone has been so bad its all the team can do just to chip into the offensive zone. They have no momentum going into the offensive zone and its coming from the break out.

The forwards haven't been that bad dealing with the forecheck. They haven't great by no means, but they haven't been that bad. The defensemen have been down right horrible. Its clear they are complete uncomfortable with the puck on their stick in their own zone. They are playing with zero confidence right now, and it shows.
There hasn't been much to cheer about in this series. . Unless you are a devils fan.
and sad as it is, there never any devils fans at the regular season games, its only when they are in the playoffs they come out
those aren't fans........... those are bandwagon jumpers
haha
this team has to find a way to shoot more plus defensemen has to shoot more too, that was actually the thing that got us to finals was that pronger was getting pucks to the net, every time timms has the puck he's passing he should be shooting more, our d has to shoot more, then the forwards, because it provides screens.
jvr isnt shooting, jagr isnt shooting, hartnell isnt shooting, briere isnt shooting, only one shooting is giroux.

It's more the problem of them even getting the chance to. They have huge problems getting out of their own zone and when they do, they can't keep pressure up at all in the offensive zone.

This is what I see too.
Despite this, Simmonds somehow gets several great scoring chances at almost point blank range, and cannot hit the broad side of a barn this series.
They have to 1. get the puck out of their zone, 2. get it thru the neutral zone and into the Devils' zone and 3. once in the zone, sustain pressure and create scoring chance(s).
They have been terrible at the first, decent at best at the second, and by the time they have a chance at the third, either it's been so long they've forgotten what to do, or it's time for a line change.

Really tough to find anything positive to say. Bryz has played great, esp. the past two games. Giroux started off great, although made some dumb plays too. They showed a bit more fire, but not enough and not in the right ways. I wouldn't give up on this team until the final horn, but they have showed so little this series. The injuries have taken their toll, not only on the defense, but on their deep forward corps. "The best defense is a good offense" worked when they were mostly healthy, but now they are mostly injured.
Nice job by the Devils so far, I thought/hoped that they were the more injured team entering the series.

You're trying to change the subject. The subject is this game, this series. And the FACT is that the Flyers are not prepared. They are disorganized and rudderless. And that is on the coach.
LOL.
I think you have that confused when your boy was still coaching the Flyers. Then again you would never admit to how clueless he was.

Honestly, the Devils deserve it! They've been playing out of their minds.
Out of their minds? The Devils are playing sound defensive hockey, just like their system of about the last 20 years has produced. Had you said the Washington Capitals are playing out of their minds I would agree.
Speaking of the Capitals, this fly up and down the ice style did work for Lavy once in Carolina but it ain't working here. It wins a lot of games during the regular season (like the Capitals have done many times) but defense wins cups and produces deep runs more frequently.
The Capitals finally figured it out with their new coach this year. Will Uncle Ed and Homer ever figure it out? I thought once we got a goalie everything was fixed. What a joke.

there is only 1 reason Washington is still playing hockey. His name is Braden Holtby.
yet this style got Lavy to within one game of game 7 of the Cup Final with MICHAEL LEIGHTON in goal in 2010.
Again I ask who do you want coaching this team? Berube? LOL
some scrub from the AHL. tried that. didnt end well.
Ill take my chances with the guy that has a ring and could have another if we had compitent goaltending in 2010.
I really am getting sick and tired of dealing with some of the ******** on this board.
