Yesterday the news was he had a lower body injury and was out "day to day." Today, the news is he's done for the tourney.
Canada can replace him on roster with another player.
Here's hoping it's not a "long term" injury and he'll be up and available for training when he needs to be.

I read one tweet where he is staying with the team. If that's true, it wouldn't think its bad enough for him to miss any significant prep time during the summer.

PollakOnSharks 1:37pm via Web News update:
#Sjsharks GM Wilson says Vlasic's knee injury is sprained MCL, won't require surgery, will be healed in time for training camp.

Recovery time ranges are generally 3-5 weeks...

If it's really just a sprained MCL, that's not too bad. He'll be fine in a few weeks and will have plenty of time to train and prepare for next season.
It's not like most players would be doing much training now anyway. Heck, if last season is any indication, Demers won't be doing anything until about the end of August or early September, if at all.

Im glad he'll be healed in time for training camp, but what worries me is how this affects his own personal training prior to camp.

Probably not much...lots of guys take a little time off in the summer and don't start hitting it hard again until mid-August. He should be fine.

That's good. I was thinking it was generally longer.

If it were up to some posters here they would be back at the gym the day after elimination.
Vlasic will be fine.

This got me thinking ... I guess Couture won't be able to bulk up over the summer with the injury and all ...

Upper body - perhaps not so much.
Lower body - few excuses.

This really sucks.
The way Couture got targeted by LA really concerns me. He is one big hit away from a serious injury. I know this can be said of any player but he does seem to go down fairly easily when he gets hit.
