Wow,even when it's in black and white you manage to mess it up.I said he wasn't a scout.Go back and read.

Umm yeah. I have a hard time actually believing you're an Oiler fan TBH. All you've posted about is trading the pick.

You would seriously give up on the BPA and draft for position instead? How'd that work out for Milbury??

You NEVER trade down when you have the #1 pick...it's just common sense IMO. It would take an over the top amazing deal that would would stagger the imagination in order for us to trade down. I've heard many a proposal to trade down to get a D man, but this is the first i've heard to do it to get Galchenyuk.

Horrible, horrible, horrible, horrible idea.

If you would check I fix it, sorry about that. Still cannot still believe your story though, especially when the final evaluation are not in. I think someone has been giving you a line of BS

If you think both of those trades have the same value and likelihood of occuring... :help

.

I thought I was clear imo.I don't expect either trade to happen. Both are fantasy trades.

I have better things to do than make stuff up on these boards. I have some info that is truthful and if you dont beleive me ,that's your right. Just know that the talk about moving the first is genuine.

Edmonton and NYI are not good trading partners. Both have relatively similar assets and both require similar assets. For this reason alone, I doubt any trade will occur, at least not involving the first overall.

Just my $0.02.

Eklund sure knows how to kill his own rumours with details.

I'm not sure any GM in their right mind would spend a crazy amount of assets acquiring a "big-time defenseman" only to ship that defenseman off for a prospect, even if it is #1 overall.

We'll just take Yakupov first overall.

Edmonton will probably just use the pick, but if management decides that they have enough future star forwards and it makes more sense to target Murray or a center then they'll have to accept a more reasonable return, or at the very least in the case of the proposed Isles 4th+Hamonic trade offer something else back in return like Sam Gagner.
Centers: Tavares,Frans Nielsen ,Strome ,Bailey, Brock Nelson,Cizikas,Ullstrom and Sundstrom.

Isls don't want or need Gagner at center. He lacks the size/toughness they need on the wing.

According to the NY press ,Snow's only been trying to aquire a big time defenseman since last June.

Maybe he trades for two of them.Trades one to Edmonton and keeps the second one.How hard could it be to aquire a big time defenseman?

About a hard as believing Snow is a good GM and Eklund will get anything right.

At the end of the day, the Oilers might just want to draft Yakupov, however he doesn't suit their needs and just tank for a Seth Jones in 2013... of course they'll probably end up with Nathan MacKinnon

Did you know that the Islanders have the #4 pick in this draft? So probably that plus picks, prospects? Only a fool would mention Tavares for a single draft pick, and this same fool would believe that he is their only valuable asset

The Oilers will trade down if we are in that position to get Seth Jones.

First of all its bogus cause its eklund but just for fun lets assume its right.

The other team is probably The Habs or CBJ, a 7th round pick for not taking Murray??

Nah.According to Eklund, the isles are getting a big time defenseman from a 3rd team. Then they will be putting that bigtime defenseman, in their package to Edmonton.

Of course the Isles badly need a bigtime defenseman for their own team, which is why I'm looking for Snow to acquire 2 bigtime defenseman. One for them and one for the Oilers.Doughty +Suter? Or maybe Carlson +Seabrooke?

sounds like the isles want the 1st and the 4th overall....

Why aquire a "big time" dman and then trade him when we have trouble geting anyone to sign here and our biggest neeed is defense..Eklund just made himself look like a jackass....The Isles NEED a bigtime dman and I dont see them getting rid of one that they were lucky enough to get

I would have to agree, unless NYI gets the top D and the 4th goes to Edmonton and the 1st goes to the team who had the D.There would have to be a lot more going to Edmonton though.

i just cant see the oilers moving yakapov. the point is to acquire as much high end talent as you possibly can. the oilers have other assets that they move for defensive help, yakapov wont be the piece moving to address those needs

Just for fun...

EK tweeted it was a UFA D-man this summer..

Quote:
Hockey Buzz Eklund ‏ @Eklund
@BDGallof the D-man they want is going to be a UFA I was told, but they have another deal in the works
Blues have two that would fit in this situation, Jackman and Colaiacovo.

Id assume it would be for Jackman. However still probably 99% false.

Still fun to dream
