I wouldn't be surprised if New Jersey won the cup

Still my opinion.

Just an amazing team clicking at the right time. Both of them deserve the Cup.

I think the Devils are taking this one. Marty Brodeur knows this is probably the last chance he'll ever get at the Cup and he'll work his ass off to make sure he ends up on the winning side.

They are the favorites now for sure.

NJ recovered from a tough first round against a surprising Florida team. They had an easy time with a Philly team that couldn't play D and had a goalie that spent too much time reading press clippings. The #1 seeded Rangers were a tough out, they weren't as banged up anywhere near as badly as the #1 and #2 seeds LA faced in the west, but it looks like they ran out of gas from two 7 game series.

How are the devils this good? You just dont see it by looking at their roster.

Not a jersey fan, but they have two elite wingers in kovalchuk and parise. They have a guaranteed HOF goalie in Brodeur who will be in the conversation for being a top 3 goalie of all time. They also have young, hungry players seizing the opportunity alongside high level veteran talent (elias for example). Their defense is very well rounded also.

And their forecheck is ridiculous.

Our defense is tremendously underrated. Our forwards are great looking on paper, so what people overlook is the quality of the defense.

The Devils are a very, very deep team. Their D is also really underrated.

Andy Greene, Mark Fayne, Bryce Salvador and Marek Zidlicky have been excellent. Volchenkov is our #5 and Larsson/Harrold have been good when called upon.

Devils have a real good team. I think LA has the better blueline while Jersey has the better forwards although they are both very close. Goalies are obviously different stylistically but can you give one the edge? I don't think so. Sutter probably has the advantage behind the benches. No disrespect to Deboer though. There's nobody like Kovalchuk on the Kings, that could be the difference. They both have some serious veteran talent and some top-line young guys who've meshed up well. I think, Devils in 7.

DeBoer has been the Devils' single biggest asset these playoffs, so I'm not so sure about giving Sutter the nod there.

I agree with that notion. The Devils are just a solid well rounded team. From top to bottom.

More credit should be given to Lou Lamoriello. See Shoults article below.

Imagine of the two teams left you wouldn't be surprised if one of them won?
