lol, and when it happens, I will use that "I didn't even see it coming" by Lloyd Christmas.

When was the last time we had a good off-season anyways (in terms of draft, trade or FA signing)?

Isn't just every GM, willing to move.

I rather send something to get another pick (or two) in the first round.

We won't be trading up, we'll be trading 5th overall ++ for Jordan Staal on the draft floor.

A step in the right direction IMO. Staal would provide the size, experience, and offence to the Kessel line that Bozak simply doesn't have.

Lupul Staal Kessel
Kadri Grabovski -----------

There better be a Staal contract extension with that.

WTF if we stand pat and draft galchanyuk/ grigo, they will be better than Jstaal and his 40pt producing ass

Based on what? They haven't even played in the NHL and you're comparing them to an established NHLer? Feel free to provide concrete proof that this is a reality, besides a feeling of course.

We should have moved up if true.
That was to get to number 2. Isles were never dealing the number 1.

You'd trade a top 5 draft pick for a second liner with limited offensive ability?

I will absolutely lose it if we trade this pick for anything other than a legit #1 C. NOT J. STAAL.

See if Anaheim wants #5 + Franson + 35 for Getzlaf, or something along those lines.

Would you really want Getzlaf over Staal at this point??
Jordan Staal is 3 years younger, had a better PPG this year, is a better skater than Getzlaf, a better shooter, and is also a good playmaker.

Staal is established, but he is very overrated given his production.

There's actually a lot of questions on Staal as well.

This year maybe.

Getzlaf only this year and in his first two years in the league have not had PPG pace. If we are bartering our first rounder, I'd prefer to move it for someone more established tbh.

I was thinking 5th overall for Troy Brouwer and Colorado's 1st.

Are there questions whether or not Staal is an NHL proven player? That really is the point.

Jordan Staal has also been a very good PKer in his career. Although his PK time is coming down a bit, Pitt has been a top 10 PK team the last 4-5 years.

J.Staal is not worth the #5++. I can already tell the next two months are going to drive me nuts. Why do we always have to be on the news about moving up or moving down! Just stay where we are and pick for ******* sakes. Our first rounder and second rounder are in great spots. We're going to get a great prospect whether we move up or not so why move other assets. Pick either Forsberg, Galchenyuk or Grigerenko and be done with it. One of them is going to be available to us. I also want this team to keep our second rounder, too many teams get rid of them and then a few years down the road we read about a guy becoming a star and what round was he chosen in..usually the second or third round.

You're asking Staal to be a #1 centre when he's been a #3 centre all his career. Those are the questions.

Also, Staal is UFA in 1 year. Would you give up a top 5 pick + for an upcoming UFA? He better sign an extension.
