Who do you root for to win the cup now?

This thread is for those fans who no longer have a horse in the race. In other words your team has either been eliminated or did not make the playoffs. The question is who are you now rooting for to win it all and why?

First of all as many of you will know, I am a long time Penguins fan (25 years) and since they've been eliminated and the first round has concluded I've decided to go for a Western Conference team. In the East the Devils, Rangers, and Flyers are all divisional rivals of my team so I cannot bring myself to cheer for any of these teams. The Capitals and Pens have a bit of a hatred (for today's standard) for each other so no way would I root for them. So that leaves the teams in the West. I've never been a fan of the Coyotes and wouldn't care if they were eventually relocated back to Canada. That leaves the Blues, Preds, and Kings. All teams that have had impressive seasons and teams that haven't won the cup before. The Blues and Kings have been to the finals before, Blues 3 times and LA once. The Preds have never been to the finals before but also hasn't been in the league nearly as long as those 2 teams. When I was younger in the late 80s and early 90s the Kings were my second favorite team. I was always a fan of Lucky Luc and McSorely. I think between the Kings and the Blues each teams fan base has waited a long time for that elusive first cup. I have decided to cheer for the Kings the rest of these playoffs, but wouldn't be overly disappointed if the Blues or Preds win it all. It is nice to see a changing of the guard in the Western conference too.

Go Kings!

Went from the Bruins to the Blues. Sorry Coyotes, you're about to lose 3 straight.

The Yotes. Just because I think it would be awesome to put a finger in the eye of everyone who says hockey doesn't belong in Phoenix.

If the Coyotes end up beating the Kings, I'll cheer for them for this exact reason. It blows my mind that people don't want the sport to spread.

I drink, a lot. And then root for the Rangers, but have to shower after each game doing so.

Lets be frank here..deep down inside you secretly root for the Caps and want to see Ovechkin hoist the Cup.

I have spoken with the wagonmaster and he has informed me that you are reserved a spot on the Bandwagon.

You can break out your oldschool Kelly Miller jersey now and wear it with pride and without fear of repercussion from fellow Pens fans. Your safety is assured.

Good ****ing question!

After the Bruins came Nashville, but that's now precarious. Next was to be the Blues if necessary, but adios to that.

I suppose the Coyotes if the Predators get knocked off. Perhaps the Devils, or maybe the Kings but then I'd be scratching the bottom of the barrel... None of the other teams, that's for sure.

I always got along fine with Caps fans, even when we disagreed which at times was often. Honestly the Caps do not annoy me that much. Still if it turns out to be Devils vs. Caps will be for the Devils. But like I said, I respect the Caps fans and get on with them so have nothing against you all.
