"We're not rebuilding; we're reloading." -What a GM trained in PR would say.

Makes me think Riser either forgot to attend that class or simply failed it big time.

"One of the things I regret as a manager not doing is managing the expectation a little bit."

Edit: DC2600 beat me to it.

When is the opener next year? I can't wait. This is such a huge offseason for the wild. Even without Parise/Suter I think this team will be in the playoffs (barring another conveyor belt to the IR type season)

Also, it seems Peter Proshka (SP? Probably) has started paying a lot more attention since most of us collectively reamed him a year or so ago. So that's nice. Tip of my hat to him.

I'm the token pessimist who doesn't believe in the club, GM, coach, or anything they have to say until the standings at the end of next year. I've just lost all faith and trust in this franchise until they prove me wrong.

But you are also very angry at the moment. Perspective is a little distorted.

Don't worry. The draft will be here soon. You'll have a nice new injection of hope until PMB and Lats get injured again.

PMB and Lats need to return first before getting injured again. And if they come back, you can count on that injury.

Watch the Wild make all the exact WRONG moves. I bet they'll:

Let Lats go
Let Stoner go
Let Harding go
Only make one or two signings, both of which aren't even worth reading about
Not make any trades

Wow I'm really in a negative mood today.

No. You're right. The draft should be fun. Although no doubt some on here will be unhappy with how it goes. I'm sure we'll lose another Cup or two that day.

I think we're on a backlog of at least 5 lost cups right now, we can't take anymore in the queue!

i am looking forward to the wild picking someone nobody had them pegged to pick again and watching the boards explode for the third year in a row.

"With the 7th overall selection in the 2012 entry draft, the Minnesota Wild are proud to select, from the Belleville Bulls of the Ontario Hockey League, Malcolm Subban."

What?! We've got the 7th overall selection. Every MN boy will be available at that point. How can you not take advantage of that?!

I love how some people have tried to say that Minnesota isn't the State of Hockey. Just looking at the list of possible draftees this year, of all the likely high school players to be drafted, about 80% of them are from Minnesota.

This team is really starving for some good prospects. Who is the last Wild draft pick to really make an impact here? Clutterbuck? He was drafted in what, 2006 I think. Yikes!
