Not only sitting on a lead, but just completely knowing you're better type killer instinct. Any team with their back against the wall like this is going to start to play a little rough and dirty. The Devils just need to abuse those mistakes by scoring goals and not dropping to their level.

The little bit of extra rest from this game would be huge after a 7 game first round.

This is the first time this series I feel really confident the Devils are going to win. I hope that isnt a terrible omen.

Shoot! That reminds me, does anyone know what time the game 5 parade is starting? I was picking confetti out of my suit all morning and forgot to look online.

This is a special team, with the hunger and talent to win. I expect them to come out looking to paste the Flyers.

I sure hope that's true, because I'm not convinced. The killer instinct has always been a key missing ingredient to this team over the last several years.

Look at the Florida series, they only took it up 2 or 3 gears once they faced elimination in Game 6 and Game 7, and it's like drive that carried through to this round.

It was almost as if they didn't appreciate their playoff life and how special this chance is until it was nearly taken away.

Yeah well here's to hoping that they learned a lot from the Florida series

The close call scared them into playing better, and taught them to not underestimate their opponent. As a result, they've been sending the kitchen sink at Philly this whole series. Probably helps that Philly is a big rival.

And even if you're right that they only turned it up once they were on the brink, well at least they had that extra gear, and they fought back from the brink and won two straight in OT. That shows a special resiliency.

They've battled back each game in this series to win (minus Game 1)...get your pessimism outta here.

Exactly, but that's what I dont like. Hopefully the lesson taught is never forgot (at least not this playoff season). If they had the proper attitude all along, they never would have lost to Carolina in Game 7.

It's not pessimism, it's realism.

I do believe many past Devils teams punt Game 4 after getting behind, since they still had a margin of error. They needed to get out of the last round in the worst way, and they've turned it up now that they got rid of that bugaboo.
