De Ja Vu?

It is absolutely uncanny how similar these two series of events were.

Buffalo - Rangers 2-2, game 5, in Buffalo, rangers up by 1. Faceoff in rangers zone with 16 sec to go. Score with 7 sec to go to tie it

And then the PP goal from the blue line to win it. Wow, mirror image.

Exactly what went through my mind. That game 5 heart-breaker. Only reversed! And only we were at home, not on the road. And Staal didn't do the ice slide

was gonna post the exact same thing, but im not allowed to make new topics cuz of my infractions lol.

eerily similar. game 5 of the eastern semis at home with the series tied 2-2, same exact situation. that goal has haunted me for the last 5 years, that '07 team was good enough to make the finals. i watched that game at a bar in manhattan and didnt move for an hour after drury tied it. we know exactly how washington feels right now

There's nothing more I'd love than to send these fair weather Caps fans home grumbling in their building but it won't be easy.

Five years and two days have passed.

I sat and stared at my television for an hour after Afinogenov scored the OT winner.

The similarities are astounding to say the least.

Except this is sooo much better!

We all thought this, scary similar. That was one of the worst moments of my life, that and sitting in msg last year when the caps won in double ot. Ill never forget how bad that was, really thought we had a chance to win that series and were just were so unlucky, not to mention some calls not our way. This stuff never happens to us..wow.

Guess I'm not alone in that it was the first thing to enter my mind. The second thing to enter my mind was that after literally years of flashback torment (it's amazing how powerful these types of situational events are) over that buffalo series I feel like we have finally, finally made up for it. Kinda like I can now let that die. Or, at least I'm hoping that will be the case after we win the series. Course, first we gotta win the series.
