Redemption against those who spurned us!

Kovalchuk vs. Richards both guys bypassed us for New York area teams if we get by the Yotes we can get payback and you know it will be a storyline. Who do you want more?

If we win the Cup, that means both of them and Philly lost. Was rootin' for Philly but DL took a lot of crap when Simmonds and Schenn were scoring points in Philly's wild no-defense all-offense system (I'm being facetious but it seems that way sometime, Philly's play style) while Richards was hurt and snake-bit like everyone else on the kings.

No matter which order they lose in, they lost if we won. So all we gotta do is win. It's no different no matter what angle you look at it from. Just win.

Looks like it worked out pretty well for all the parties involved, the three teams and the two players are all thriving right now

Kings are fine at center. Richards is a great talent, but we needed a finisher more. Kovalchuk, what can you say he, is an amazing player (despite the crap he gets on this board) and him playing with Kopitar and Brown would have been a beautiful thing, but it just wasn't meant to be. People are still in love with Parise, and he is a great player. But Kovalchuk stirs the Devils drink.

Kovalchuk.

That dude straight up dissed us, and then came out in the media and made a big joke of it saying he never wanted to come here, and he only flew out to L.A. cause his wife wanted to see manhattan beach.

Richards was professional about it, weighed his..many options and pretty much got his decision over very quickly.

Kovalchuk made a scene about it, and then made a scene of himself.

**** that guy.

This.

There really is no comparison between the two. Kovalchuk was extremely unprofessional about the whole affair, thought the whole thing was a big ****ing joke.

Then he expressed confusion as to why Kings fans were booing him. Really? I mean, are you that ****ing clueless? What a tool.

Would love to see Brown drill him on a cross-ice check...but I am getting too far afield here. Kings still have work to do in the WCF.

Don't forget how long Kovalchuk dragged out his decision. Blatantly circumvented the cap, then caused his new team assets because of it. F that dude.

The two aren't even comparable.

There is zero reason to be mad at Richards. Zero. Kovalchuk on the other hand was a dick about it, but that's all in the past now.

If we get there a revenge aspect truly wouldn't matter to me. I'd rather play New York though. I had a dream a few nights ago where Doughty scored a series winner at Madison Square Garden. Plus, all the history involved with that building...I guess that means Richards then.

Kovy has to live in Jersey. Isn't that good enough of revenge? Richards I don't really care about. Didn't want him anyway and I knew he was going to NY the whole time.

NJ in name only.

Kovy probably lives in Bergen County or if he wanted to, a really sick Manhattan highrise. Must be nice to make that much money to play hockey

In the grand scheme of things, winning the cup would be so gratifying and amazing that any "payback" against those guys will seem so minute in comparison that it won't matter.

I voted for Kovalchuk too, though that was only one part of it. Another reason is Marty Brodeur. Even if he is 40, I think it'd be great to say our first cup came by beating arguably the greatest netminder of all-time in the finals.

Agreed!! Let's worry about winning the west first. Would be nice to see that banner raised next year.

Northern NJ has some of the most beautiful countryside I've ever seen in America (the Garden State and all). I was blown away by it. I imagine he only sees the good parts of NJ.

Between the 2, I'd rather see Richards, since I'd like the SCF to be Kings vs Rangers (even though Richards wasn't a jerk about signing w/ NY)

I chose Kovy because I would be confident about beating the Devils in a 7-game series.

Rangers, not so much. Equal goaltending and equal (if not better) up front firepower

Kovi hands down...everybody has already pointed how he did us wrong. I would love more than anything for Brown or Richards or Doughty to put his ass through the boards.

I would rather face NJ because of their defense, nothing to do with Kovalchuk vs. Richards.

Don't think it will matter because the Kings might not get past Phoenix anyways.

Kovalchuk, because getting tickets in NJ is easier than NY.

Go Kings!

Kovalchuk no doubt. Beating the flyers would have been pretty sweet as well, oh well, maybe next year?

I just want to see Bob Miller raise the Stanley Cup. That is really all I want.

For the most part I couldn't care less about these players on the other teams.
