Ovechkin blocking shots is so new to me that I don't know how to react.
My face is just confused.

I thought the refs weren't calling interference in the playoffs.

Surprised they were outshot in that period. That said, still a few too many passes. Shoot more and get to the net.

Having only one line (Backstrom's) that's really going at a high level and lazy penalties blunted a strong start.

This team still has no idea how to break up a cycle.

Rangers keep out-shooting the Caps but it feels like the Caps are getting the better chances.
Get the next goal and win the game boys!

So long as they keep it to the outside, I can live with that.

Those of you happy with that period are fooled by the score. Unless we get more aggressive on defense this has Rags win written all over it. Collapsing so much on the PP worked against the Bruins but is fatal against the Rags. With that much space they are finding guys in the slot and we are very lucky to come out unscathed. Also we are getting worse by the game defending the cycle. Pin them against the boards quickly damnit so they can't keep changing directions sp quickly. Finally Dale's insistence on sending everything up the boards is playing into NY's hands. They know exactly where to wait to keep it in. We need to take some chances breaking out towards the middle. Although we might not be practicing that so all our eggs are in one basket.
Offensively we have resorted to nothing but rushes. Little interest in trying to keep the puck in. Guys are literally waiting for Rags defensemen to pin them. Ugh, very nervous.

Ovy needs a center who he can play off of......I dunno maybe someone with the number 19!!!!!!
Laich and Semin seem to have better chemistry than Laich and Ovi
