Apparently the ******** from having an offensive team instead of a defensive team is still strong.
Funny, there's no "Any coach could win with a team this talented!" posts anymore...

Isn't Dale kind of proving that?

Here is a raw coach that was used to working with teenagers. Never coached in the NHL.

Only had a little over half a season to implement his system.

And here we are. The team has made it as far as BB ever took them.

And has somehow managed to toughen them up to boot. Mentally and physically.

we know laich has no talent.

I have been seeing a lot more odd mans the past two games

I think we have been making adjustments, exposing their aggressiveness

BUT BUT BUT he didn't win the Southeast Division title! He's probably more ******** about that since there aren't enough banners at the VC.

If you believe he's a terrible coach sure...but most of you don't seem to.

I don't believe he's a terrible coach, I just think he's a terrible fit with some fatal flaws.

Further, this team was supposed to be better than any of the team's BB got to coach in the playoffs. Who knows what he would have done with a team with more playoff experience and added grit.

Edit: and a hot goalie..

yes, but not burying them! nor even winding up w/ quality shots. i will give 74 credit, though. that was a good low hard shot on net during his 2-on-1. as eddie o or pierre or someone pointed out, it wasn't one of those glass bangers which winds up halfway down the ice going the other way and giving counterattack 3-on-2.

Yeah, if we just learned how to finish them, we wouldn't have to go to game 7.

If you guys could finish on any of those chances the games would be done quite early. Despite NY and the Caps playing that defensive style, Washington has the star power to create those chances and beat the Rangers.

Caps need to stay focused (and not get too nervous) from the puck drop; Ottawa made two glaring mistakes in game 7 (giveaways in front of their own net) and the game was over for them.

Just back from the game. Money well spent, great atmosphere. On a side note, got the tickets last night via Stub Hub so I was up in the nosebleeds. I don't know if the seat widths get narrower the higher up you are at the phone booth or just that my ass inflates as it gets further away from the ice, either way had a hell of a time extricating myself from my seat on Ovie's goal.

Let's go Caps!!!!!!!!!!!!

dude, that's not what the ******** was from. it was from the pathetic, chronic underachievement in the postseason. that's why everyone's in such a good mood this year. we are doing the opposite, i.e. exceeding expectations.

however, it should be pointed out, in fairness, that DH has now reached only the same point which BB got the Caps in his best postseason: a game 7 in round 2. saturday will tell whether DH surpasses that mark or whether that's just the highwater point beyond which Caps are constitutionally unable to proceed.

Yes. For instance, if Nicky buries his next breakway, that would be big help. Chimmer due for a good breakaway chance too. And Semin for a freaking goal. Been a while.

But getting the first goal on Saturday would be huge. That's for sure. In #8 we trust.

Who knows what Hunter would be doing with a team with Fedorov or Arnott as the 2C instead of a tire changer.

Sure, there's ******** from the underachieving, but there was also absolutely ALWAYS ******** over being an offensive team. It's revisionist history to believe there wasn't.

The Boudreau trolling is childish and pathetic.

There's plenty of ******** to go around, that's for sure. But a berth in ECF would soothe a lot of the collective ********, both current and historical. NO MORE ********! That's gonna be my next homemade sign at a game.
