7.6 isint sooooooo bad, its just the 24m in the first two years and the length
It is time for the Predators to step up to the plate. This is what it takes to retain elite players right now. If Suter walks, you have a much higher likelihood that Weber walks. If that happens, this teams "win-now" period will effectively have ended. It is rare you see three superstars on a team. We have that. This team is so close.
Would love to know the team that offered that 13 year 100mil... And now that those numbers out and the Preds vowing to match any offer Weber gets means Weber will not sign an offer sheet or The Preds get stuck with one stupid contract that cripples the team.
I have full faith in Poile and the organization to match whatever length and total $ is being offered, but I just don't see them being able to shell out the heavy front-loads being talked about. Just ridiculous...
The Avs jumped a gun on a signing earlier. It's one of the problems of the twitter age where every blogger, reporter, rumor monger, fan, source, etc wants to be first with news and doesn't always wait for it to be true.
we are pretty much getting pissed on by the whole NHL. this organization is a joke to alot of people it seems. same **** we always hear.
This organization is no joke, but severely lacks the type of financial resources most of the top teams in the league are able to bring to bear. I would be surprised if our offer wasn't in the same ballpark in terms of total money and years to most of the top offers, but we just don't have the $ to be paying players TWICE their sizable cap hit for the first years of their contracts.
