If something like this does not happen for game 7.......torts has to be held accountable.......nothing less.
This is an perfect example of where each player belongs to have the best chance to put the puck behind holtby.
If the lines Torts used tonight are used on Saturday and we lose, I would be in favor of firing him on the spot and I'm serious. That's how much of a piss poor job Torts did tonight, a 10 year old could have coached a lot better tonight
how did gabby score.....thats right traffic in front of the net
how did staal score....thats right traffic in front of the net
anyone else seeing a pattern here......im willing to bet torts isnt
Nope.......Torts was outclassed and outmatched
The team was an absolute EMBARRASMENT out there
Torts has no idea of how to get this team to break down the Caps system
We simply don't have the players that have the balls to go to the net. We just don't have the players nor the Drive to play Smashmouth hockey.....ala the Kings
We are such a One Dimensional team.......which is Play it Safe, Grind it, Muck it
No creativity at all with our team.....unlike all the other teams left on the playoffs
it's pretty sad comming to this point with this team......
The skaters played a terrible game and Torts was outcoached from the drop of the puck. Its a bad combination and both of those things need to change if we're gonna play the Devs.

I actually feel our future opponents would be a hell of a lot better matchups then both the Sens and Caps.
I think Tortorella's "we're just going about our business here, just play the next game" banalities have totally neutered this team. They show no emotion.
To come out and play like that in a game where you can close out a series is embarrassing.
We must remember that this is a very young team, and I really think that first goal, scored so early in the game, completely destabilized us, and took us off our game. Really think we will come out strong Saturday, and it is imperative we score first.
Also, some of our important second tier players (Artie, Step, Hags) must show up, including the captain, who has had a very quite series. Although, it would help if Stepan played with Cally, and maybe with Kreider, who can use his speed.
The winning percentage of teams leading a series 3 games to 2 in NHL history in game 6 is .568. The winning percentage in the series however is .793 and .818 for the team at home in game 7. This shows that alot of the teams winning a series after being up 3-2 are doing it in game 7. This isn't the end of the world.

On what planet?
Devils are going to be way more physical than the Caps. Plus they have just as good of a defense. The only thing weaker about that team is the goaltending.
remember boston last year, 3 game 7s. 1st round against montreal they were up 3-2, lost game 6 on the road, won game 7 at home. conference finals against tampa bay they were up 3-2, lost game 6 on the road, won game 7 at home. sound familiar? we're still in a great spot. every one of us would have signed up for a game 7 at home with a spot in the eastern finals on the line, so lets do this.
