Nothing has ever come easy for the Rangers. Even with a more talented team. Ever. The Rangers were completely dominant over the Canucks in 94 to the point where they were up 3 games to 1 going into game 5 at home. And boy did they ever lose that game. The Canucks tied them up in knots the entire time. So then they go to Vancouver for game 6... can't have two crappy games like that in a row, right? Wrong. It's the Rangers. They have to make things difficult for themselves. And even in game 7 when it finally looked like they could win, in the last 30 seconds of the game their lead was threatened. No one truly believed the Rangers actually won the cup that night until they announced "THE WAITING IS OVER". I mean, come on. This team has what it takes to keep this going. They just can't make it easy. They'll get there.

Del Zotto should be taken off the PP completely. Put Stralman in his place. DZ was HORRIBLE at the point. Slow, indecisive, couldn't make one pass, and God knows he never gets it on net.
This. My level of Hatred for the Caps is at an all time high. Its not even that I hate the team, its more of a "Can we ever ****ing win against these guys *sigh*" sort of miserable feeling

Not only for the advancement of our playoffs but because forcing Rangers fans to choose between the Devils and the Caps is practically a war crime.
Just finished watching the game on DVR. I'm extremely disappointed, and don't think the effort was 100% where it should have been, but I'm going to remain positive. Game 7 is the first game in this series I will be able to watch live from start to finish. Please make it worth it. Let's go Rangers.

Dale Hunter, for as much as an ******* he was as a player, was calm and collected after the Game 5 loss.
Torts is acting like a spoiled child right now.
Those personalities have to start to wear on a team. For Hunter in a good way, for Torts in a bad way.
As was said earlier in this thread, if the Rangers lose Saturday night, Torts should be canned Sunday morning.
Even if they should happen to move on and do more things this season, it might be worth re-evaluating the coaching situation.
It's hard to fire a coach who takes a team pegged for 5-8 in October to number 1 in the East and possibly to the SCF.

They're terrified of an ECF with the Rangers and that's it. Yes they dislike the Rangers, but in the end the Devils know they have horrible post-season success against the Rangers and Marty is not on the level Henrik is.
Of course they want the Rangers to lose as badly as they wanted to win. The Caps would be a way better match-up for them.
