What a disgrace. Worst Oil Kings performance in a Memorial Cup ever and just entirely crapping the bed as the WHL representative.
Who knew a couple weeks ago the team would've been better off losing in the WHL final?
Is there a mercy rule in this tournament. Can they just fly home after the 2nd period?

6-0? Wow. Embarrassed on national television. Barf.
MVP or not, Brossoit has not been good at all during this tournament.
Next year, I guess.
WHL champs is a great accomplishment. Hopefully they can repeat next season.
All I know is Maxwell, Rachinski, Pysyk, St. Croix and Ewanyk really let this team down in the four games.

A damn ****ing shame that their season had to go out like this. What an embarrassment. The Winterhawks would have done better.

At least they spoiled the shutout bid.

HAH! I'll be back next year but it's going to be tough for these kids to wipe this stink off.
I hope they don't use youth as an excuse. If I'm not mistaken the Knights are youngest club in the tournament.

Hey I watched my Wheat Kings get crushed not once but twice by Windsor at this thing so ya
I don't know maybe they relied too much on Brossoit and now he is just giving them what they got in the WHL playoffs

Moroz, Lazar and Samuelsson are the only ones playing like they have what it takes to win. Makes sense that Laxdall is hardly playing them.

Ugh. This sucks.
Lowe won't be back, will he?
Brossoit was simply terrible in the Memorial Cup.

Honestly, if an attitude like that comes to pass, then Edmonton doesn't deserve the Oil Kings. They're too good for it.
Next paycheck, I'm grabbing season seats I think. The fact they made the Memorial Cup in year 5 is an amazing accomplishment, they deserve more fans.

It will be a blow for the Oil Kings to see Pelss leave, but hopefully Bob Green can hit another home run via import draft.
The Oil Kings are now a team who can afford to spend a lot on acquiring a top-notch forward, much like the Ice, Winterhawks and Blades have recently done.

I think it is clear who 2/3 of the first line should be next season:
Samuelsson - Lazar - ??????
Those two, I hope to see some greatness next year.

Corbett was touted as a late second/early third round pick. After the last quarter of the season and the playoffs/memorial cup, I doubt we see him taken within the first four rounds. He had no confidence whatsoever.
I am excited to see Irving next season, even if in limited viewings.

It has to be tough for Pysyk, Maxwell, Rachinski and Peddle, all of whom are now moving on.
I can see Rachinski carving out a nice career in the AHL or Europe; not so much with Peddle and Maxwell, though.

Hopefully this will be the first of many Memorial Cup appearances for the Oil Kings, and hopefully the fan base starts to grow. Any time that a team is league champ it is a great accomplishment.

Going back to the old glory years, Edmonton traditionally doesn't do well against the East. Still it was a great and surprisingly strong season. I wish the graduates well in their future endeavors.

I know this ending leaves a sour note for most people, but this really was an incredible season. I never had any interest in cheering for the Oil Kings before I got some free tickets in December honestly I got hooked after that. Great hockey and a team that is full of guys you want to cheer for.

It's too bad the season has to end this way but it was a great ride.
It's great hockey. If anyone hasn't given it a chance, do so next season. A 1st round sweep by the Rebels got me hooked last season. You can only imagine where my loyalty is after this season. If I lived in Edmonton I'd definitely be grabbing season tickets.
