How sad is it that we're all so super geeked about watching an american hockey league game? I'll admit I'm looking forward to seeing how they do tonight, and I can't remember ever caring about an AHL game ever before. I want to see Kadri leading the way, not just being a small cog in the machine. He's got to do something to separate himself from the pack, the draft is coming up and a whole new crop of players will join the system to push him from below. It's time to show that you aren't just a guy capable of contributing to an AHL team but that you're a game breaker who's ready for the show.
Our fanbase is so ridiculously starved for playoff hockey it's like a starving Ethiopian kid begging for your scrap delivery pizza crusts.
That being said that was an awful comparison because the Marlies really are an exciting team to watch. If we were getting excited about the Reading Royals playoff run, then it would be more accurate.
