I can't believe Marlies tickets are that cheap! 50 bucks for platinum seats? Yeah I'll buy one. Game 3 vs the Barons. That's a made evening right there. Watch the game and use the rest of the money you would normally have to spend watching a Leafs game... and just get drunk with it in Toronto!

well thank god Rosehill gets to use his preferred stick, it'd be terrible for the team if he had the wrong stick while rotting in the press box or playing 5 min/ night

and yea reebok/ ccm sticks are WORST

there's a reason why almost all NHLers use easton or bauer

Yeah..we wouldn't want Rosehill having the wrong stick and not performing well

Rosehill has probably played 20 mins combined in the six games he's played and has 0 points.

Keep rolling in the sense that they'll only lose one out of every eight games? Probably not.

Toronto and Oklahoma played twice this season. Toronto lost 3-1 early in the season, and then won 2-0 later in the year. So I expect the series to be a close one. Could come down to a goaltending battle. Scrivens has been the best goalie (arguably) in the playoffs, while Yann Danis is more seasoned in the AHL and NHL (60+ NHL games).

Both team match up quite well depth wise. Marlies have benefited a lot from their ability to roll 4 lines, it'll be interesting to see if they have to adjust.

What's the cheapest way to get tickets? I know there was a Groupon deal for the last round or something, but I couldn't go until now. Is everyone just snagging them directly from the Marlies website?

The prices have gone up since the last round, which is to be expected, but they're still relatively cheap. Buying them directly seems to be the only choice it seems.

Last round they even had a ticketmaster code for a discount.

Tickets I'm spending $39.50 this round I got for $23 last round.

Time for Rosehill to take one for the team, or he'd better get some ear plugs for home games. If he's bound by the agreement, the Marlies should announce it publicly to keep the taunts at a minimum.

Barons, Marlies playoff shapes up as a barn-burner

http://www.edmontonjournal.com/sport...407/story.html

Quote:
EDMONTON - Todd Nelson is under no illusions that his Oklahoma City Barons will have an easy time against the Toronto Marlies.

He expects their best-of-seven American Hockey League Western Conference final will go the distance.
Oklahoma Barons provide Toronto Marlies with toughest test on road to Calder Cup

http://www.thestar.com/sports/leafs/...-to-calder-cup

Quote:
The Toronto Marlies are on a roll on the road and they’ll have to continue their success if they hope to advance to the Calder Cup finals.

The Maple Leafs’ AHL affiliate begins the Western Conference championship series Thursday night in Oklahoma City where they’ve never won in the two seasons the Barons have been in the league.

That’s a problem because the Edmonton Oilers’ farm team, the west’s top team in the regular season (45-22-9), gets the extra home game in the best-of-seven series.
I expect this to be a tough series and we will have to win on the road.
