Tippett's contract

I recall that Tippett's contract expires after this year... does anybody know if that's right or maybe I'm taking crazy pills?

With the awesome run going on and Jamison at least offering a ray of hope for the team to stay in town, what's the feel on an extension for DT?

Yeah, no doubt. I mean, the guy is virtually peerless... incredible coach.

I haven't picked up on any comments indicating how he'd feel about it... there was plenty of "no Phoenix, no DT" talk earlier in the season but I haven't heard a thing since. Anybody got anything in that regard?

It expires after next season. It was a four year contract.

IIRC he has a no movement clause, as does Doan. He has been a strong supporter of Phoenix as a hockey market. Should the team stay, I think that he wants to be associated with one club, much like Trotz, but if Toronto or offered him the keys to the bank, who knows. My guess is that he would not want to go into the meat grinder of Montreal.

If we get an owner, he'll be re-signed. Least of our worries.

His mom is French Canadian, I've been told. I've had no reason to chase this down to see if it is true.

You guys would be crazy not to re-sign Tippett. I hated him in Dallas (that's just natural though), I fully appreciate his coaching talents after seeing what he's done in Phoenix.
