Patrick Roy: Winning, nothing else

I have thought about buying it, I like Roy's drive and dedication and have heard that the book is a good read.

What's your opinion? Worth the money (~20 bucks)?

It's an interesting lead. Gives you some insight into what he went through. Worth a buy.

Good book, but I bet it would have been better in french. His french dad wrote it and it was translated to English, and I'm pretty sure it lost a little something during the translation. It was just oddly worded, and was written a lot... simpler than other hockey novels are. It was good though.

Worth it, especially if you're a fan of his.

I certainly enjoyed it. Gave me a good look at the man behind the mask per se. If your a fan get it, I think you should get it also if your interested in him or about him.

Winning and nothing else is a bad attitude to have toward life

Only if you think being a loser is fine.

Does it talk about him [mod: being charged with domestic violence]? Or the destruction of his house? Cause if it goes into those details, then it has to be a straight look into his life. The guy had some horrible anger issues...

Loved his passion when he was a hab and would love to see him back in any form with the team.

Focusing on results means you lose the process.. Losing the process makes your chances at winning worse.

Winning has to be every athletes goal, but winning at all costs / nothing else matters is a terrible attitude.

For people playing recreational sports sure. For a professional doing his job, not so much. They are judged, hired, and fired by results.

When you have something like 50 more playoff wins than the guy in second place to go with three Conn Smythe awards, I'd say the title is appropriate.

Imagine if Roy didn't retire until the lockout and that 03-04 team had him as their goalie.
