With no picks in the first or second round, the Caps have selected one of the most skilled players in the draft in Anton Slepyshev with their 65th pick. Projected to go in the first round earlier in the year, Slepshev was the youngest yet most productive member on his junior team in Russia. He will spend at least the new 2-3 years in Russia.

The Capitals have also drated goalie Francois Tremblay and defenseman Dylan Blujus.
