Yeah, I hope I can be the kind of baller some day to go into a steak house and order 3 filet's.

Waitress: "3 filet's mignon's!?!?! I've never heard of such a thing!"
Me: "Yeah, that's right, 3, they're too small"

I'd love that, order a bunch, then just eat them myself.

Filet Mignon. Medium rare. Best I ever had was at the Como Inn in Chicago before it closed.

I like mine medium well... in Germany, I have to order well to get it the way I want it

went to Gibsons in Oak Brook a month back, horrible. service sucked, food was meh... nowhere near the $$$ and that was a unanimous food was below average for a table of 10 people....been downtown, never liked it either...place is over-priced and rarely delivers...

Wildfire in Oak Brook is okay, but I really like Morton's downtown...had a couple bad service nights, but the steaks are pretty damn good...

Ruth's Chris steakhouse blows...will never go back to that crap whole

and Kruger should be playing in the KHL....

If you give me a steak, I will eat it. I'm a meat-and-potatoes kind of person, I don't pay attention to the petty details. I do like mine medium, though, rare is too tough and whenever I have well-done it comes out charred.

Filet mignon, though, not a big fan.

I keep hearing about Shaws and Weber Grill downtown for steaks... never been to either, can anyone comment on those...??

and Jeremy Morin is a lock for a top 9 role next year since we likely will not sign much to replace Brunette, Morisson, Mayers, etc...he hits and can score...if his head is on straight he will do fine after having a full summer of recovery

well in downtown Chicago, when your paying $50-70 bucks for a steak, paying attention to those petty details is absolute common sense...and what helps justify a good meal or not

if you dont care about details, just go to Old Country Buffet and get their all you can eat stake for $12 bucks...I hear that its pretty nice on the way out

For me they're petty. You give me a slab of meat I'll down it.

I like Morin as a top nine player, Kruger is barely bottom six though.

Medium / NY strip or porterhouse. Heard David Burkes is one of if not the best for dry aged steaks. Never been there but their dry aged starts at 35 days where most other places end.

I don't eat red meat much, I stick to chicken and ground turkey. Granted, I won't turn down a good hunk a beef.

I gets my meats down at Peoria Packing on Lake st. It's a giant cooler where you throw some gloves an and pick your cuts out of big piles of fresh cuts. That place is perfect for meat lovers on a budget.

Yeah, Peoria Packing Butcher Shop. It's meat lover's heaven. All sorts of ribs, pork, beef, chicken and sausages to choose from. Even pre-made bags of chicken/beef patties are a killer deal compared to the grocery store. I almost stopped buying meat for a while because of the cost of steak at the major grocery chains around here.

thats awesome, is the meat labeled like between choice and select? thats the main difference in good meat...gotta get select...

how is the pricing per pound on Fillets and Ribeyes there off-hand?? would love to see if its worth my time to go there as I buy a ton of steaks every week....

....and oh yeah, Kruger to the CHL....

Nope, no select labeling whatsoever but ribeye usually runs $3.99/lb. If you have a good set of eyes for quality you can pick out choice cuts since they do most butchering in house. I have a couple different buddies I introduced to the place who are a bit meat snobbish and love it nonetheless.

......and Morin is poised for a great 2012-2013 AHL season.

Popeyes every other Tuesday with that two piece deal. Otherwise it's not worth the cost. Red beans and rice there is amazing.

And I think if Morin impresses enough in camp he can make the team.
