Then maybe the onus should be on the fans that act like entitled little babies in October to change their ways & have a little perspective when it comes to the usual October blues

If we care about how fans act, then could you imagine trading Luongo to the Leafs and then watching Luongo hoist the Cup next season in a Leafs uniform? We'd never hear the end of it.

Haven't seen a good one come out of Toronto yet.

The best I could almost get agreed on was:

Schenn + Ashton + 2012 2nd + 2013 1st (conditional on playoffs).

I dont like Schenn much, I tried for Kulemin, and I dont think Kadri cracks this club next year.

I really dont see Toronto as a real option, unless they want to buck up something of value (5th overall or Gardiner).

I don't get why you would even want Kulemin? He's overrated from his 30 goal season which was a clear fluke.

Because he's an upgrade on Raymond (and possibly Higgins), and is an under performing young player on an RFA contract.

He is young and big, two things Gillis has stressed.

I'd rather have him than Schenn.

Like I said, a deal with Toronto does not look likely, because they dont have much.

Kulemin would be a plug and play guy to help in the now, with the rest of the return being futures.

I'd much rather hold out for a better return, but these days it seems only Leaf fans are interested in discussing a possible Luongo trade (not that fan interest means much).

That is so funny I might go put that in trade

Kulemin had one freak 30g season and I doubt he ever shoots 17.3% over a season again let alone hits 25 ES goals. Likewise I doubt he shoots 6.5% again for only 7 goals. He's a 15-20g scorer which is handy, puts him in the same league as Higgins and Hansen - a 2/3 tweener, just a bit bigger.

If all we got for Luongo was a Higgins type I'd be pissed.

If we didn't already have Booth, I wouldn't have a problem takinga chance on Kulemin; else it is a fair bit of cap space on "reclamation type projects".

Kulemin seems like an amalgam of Raymond, Higgins and Booth so that wouldn't work.

If the Canucks have to take back salary from the Leafs, let it be Tim Connolly. Still managed 1.85 pts/60 5 on 5 despite mainly playing as 3rd line center. Cap hit is huge but he's a UFA after this season so he can always be waived or ? if necessary.

Not here to pump Kulemin's tires because it was only a suggestion, but I will say a player coming off 7 goals and is Rfa on 2.35m, wouldn't be a huge price to pay.

I'd prefer a better return for luongo too. Just thought id add that.

What do Canucks fans feel is a reasonable return for Roberto? They aren't going to get an Evander Kane or a Jordan Eberle. Schenn+ or Kadri+ seems more realistic if the Canucks are looking for young players. Luongo simply doesn't have a very appealing contract and there is some baggage and stigma attached to him.

Scan the forums.

Everyone has weighed in already.

Schenn and Kadri both suck, so the +'s would have to be substantial.

Toronto fans aren't prepared to offer substantial.

The longer this drags out the more I believe new Jersey is a big player in this. What the return would be is the question. Would they give up a prospect like Merrill?

Luke Schenn is the 21st century version of Luke Richardson. He's not the main player you get as a return for a franchise goaltender.

Or Drake Berehowsky!

Good call on the comparison.

Would anyone else be happy with getting Okposo back for Luongo? He's a solid, young power forward who's really impressed me in the WHC so far.

To Toronto: Luongo
To Van: Okposo
To NYI: Gunnarsson, Ashton, 2nd

Booth-Kes-Okposo are much more deserving of the AMEX line moniker IMO.

I like to think that they'd actually get some kind of good player in return for Lu. But you can just have Raymond if you want.

This actually got proposed on the main boards:

Quote:
Van:

Kadri
Gardiner
2nd 2012
2nd 2013 or 1st 2013 - conditional on if they make the playoffs

Toronto:

Luongo
Edler
WTF is going on.
