Was part of the first wave of really good US talent in the NHL. Rowe was the first US player to
score 30+ goals in the NHL in 78-79. He scored 31 in just 69 games, including a 4 goal game.
I was one year ahead of him in HS and in my junior and senior year there was some mega talent in
EMass hockey including Rowe, Langway and all four BU Gold Medalists. Rowe though was a clear cut above
all his cohorts in Mass hockey. At his peak it would be 5 years and the arrival of Bobby Carpenter before Mass produced an equivalent goal scorer. He got injured in the late 70's I believe and never was the same player.
