Portland Winterhawk/WHL Playoffs

So, in recent request, here is the "Official" Portland/WHL Playoffs Thread!

This is mostly to discuss Sven, but it can also be for any other prospect we have as well.

In 3 games, Sven has 2 goals, 7 assists. He's made some beautiful plays, and done almost all the work for his goals and assists.

I'll try to update his point totals as the playoffs unfold, however anyone else updating might help as well. (Finals coming up and such).

Regardless, Sven is continuing his dominance of the WHL and is showing everyone why he is the most exciting prospect we have had in a very long time.

Go Winterhawks Go!

Edit: Just saw the stickied Prospect info thread, and that people have posted about Bart in it. If this should be deleted mods, feel free.

I'm ok with a new Baertschi thread. Sure there's a prospect thread, but Sven is not the average prosepct. I understand the need keep a board organized, but it's not like the Flames board is overflowing with traffic.

So exciting to hear Sven is ripping it up in the playoffs. It's always a little worrisome if you hear that a guy isn't performing well under pressure. This kid seems to thrive when it matters most. We have ourselves a special one.

Honestly, I haven't noticed him much. Which I guess is a good thing. He certainly isn't out of place often. He does however have 1 goal and 1 assist in the three games. I also don't focus on watching him as much as I do Baertschi. Every time Sven is on the ice, he makes something happen.

I know! He is an absolute dominant force in the playoffs. Every goal I have seen him assist on, have been him giving perfect opportunities to Rattie. I don't want to sound like a homer, but Sven looks to be the driving force on this team, and specifically on his line.

I'm sure someone who watched Portland more often will be able to provide more details. (Didn't we have a poster from portland who watched every game?)

3 PPG is ridiculous.

Rattie is impressive too.

Haven't updated this in a while. Got finals coming up so this might be hard to keep up until I'm done.

Sven now has played 8 games, notching 5 goals, 14 assists for 19 points. He is 1 point back from Rattie for the WHL Playoffs scoring lead.

To put this in perspective, he has 6 more points, in one more game than Emerson Etem (The ducks blue chip prospect, ranked just below Sven).

Portland plays tonight as well if anyone cares to watch.

So, the Winterhawks have a 2-0 series lead against the Tri-City Americans. Game 3 is tomorrow! In those two games, Baertschi has 3 points, and is a +3.

The Winterhawks sweep the Tri-City Americans, so the Hawks are the WHL Western Conference Champs.

If I'm correct, Baertschi had 4 points in 4 games.

Both Rattie and Sven have slowed down a bit

I think they've been spilt up and play on different lines..?

I heard bits of game 4 and most of game 3 and they were together for the most part, with Noebles in the middle.

Our most promising offensive prospect vs one of our promising goalie prospects, Flames fans and management really need to keep an eye on this series!!
